Good Sunday Mornin'

Last night we got a badly needed and prayed for follow up rain. There is more on slate for today. With follow up rains, we can make some grass. As the grass is dependent on the continued rains, so are we dependent on God for his continued care. Last week many of you folks alluded to "my" talent or ability to see an illustration. Well, I hate to disappoint anyone, but I am as dependent on the Lord to show me a weekly illustration as the grass is on the rain. I am not "talented," but the Lord doesn't need talent. His abilities are so far superior to any of ours, that it makes us wonder what ability do any of us truly have to offer to Him? Even if we are talented, who has made us different from anyone else? (I Corinthians 4: 6 & 7) No, the Lord is more interested in who is willing, than who is able. He is able, are you willing? We all play a part in His service. Last week we were all encouraged by "Good Sunday Mornin'", none more than I was, but we all played a part. There were a lot of views, but more to see what all you were saying than what I had said. You never know when you are being watched. Have yourselves a good Sunday Mornin'. Jan just proof read this and says it isn't finished yet—and a good rest of the week too—now it is!!!

Thanks for your devoted and inspired message, Shortgrass. Glad you are getting some much needed rain. We have been blessed with a half inch total the past two nights, and it looks like more might come tonight. It has sure put a pretty shade of green to the landscape. :-)

Thanks for your message this morning, Shortgrass. I appreciate your weekly message.

I'm glad to hear you received some much needed moisture. We've been getting a little...not as much as some places around here, but we also have been lucky enough to miss out on the huge hail that's been in the area. Reports from Dupree SD are there isn't a house or car in town without broken windows from a really bad hail storm Thursday night.

Have a great week, and here's to more rain coming your way!

Cheers---

I went to a family reunion yesterday, had printed up some updated family history books. I realize they too, are not finished, and I can not finish it, many of the youngest generation are not in it. It will go on and on. When we look at the old testament we can have great respect for the Jewish people for giving us that, and the many traditions that we have inherited from the Jewish, but it reads like a detective story with the last chapter missing. Waiting for the Messiah! The Gospels give us that last chapter. But this too is not finished! It is up to us to continue to the finish. God will give us the talent and the grace to work toward this finish if we are willing.

Shortgrass, you hit the nail on the head. Talent or no really doesn't matter when we realize that God doesn't call the equipped. He equips the called. Last week many checked in here to acknowledge how your messages here touch us each week, even though we may not take time to respond to your message.

IMO, you're kinda like our ranchersnet version of John the Baptist, pointing us toward the Lord each week encouraging us to follow Him. Thank you and keep up the good work!

TTB, I saw on the tv news that the weather was kinda rough in Dupree. It was really nasty looking clouds here late Sat evening but only ended up with a light shower and quite a bit of wind. I was baling and decided to finish another time.
