Good Sunday Mornin'

One of my cousins was showing me pictures of a recent trip he had taken. He had visited Island in the Sky in Utah. Several pictures had been taken there. In each of the pictures, he was standing within inches of a sheer drop of thousands of feet. There was lots of room to stand where there was no danger. In life, sometimes we live on the edge of sin. Why is it that when God has provided plenty of safe space that we insist on living at the edge of trouble. One missed step, and we would plunge headlong into sin. God has given us plenty of safe space—it is our responsibility to take advantage of it. Have you ever got all dressed up in your Sunday go to meetin' clothes, and remembered the water or some chore in the corral. Invariably you will step in something no matter how careful you are. My rule of thumb is "if ya don't want it on ya, stay out of the pens." People think they can play with sin and not be drawn in—not a chance! Get back from the edge! Well have yourselves a good Sunday mornin' and a fine rest of the week too.

Those are wonderful comparisons, Shortgrass. Your examples really drive home your point! Well said :D AND....very true. The Law gives us lots and lots of freedom. Thank you again for your "to the point" messages.

I may have to get you to tale up preachin' yet! Once again, excellent post and way to do the Lord's work right here on Ranchers. I appreciate men like you who help to spread the Truth. Thank you so much again.

Great analogy, Shortgrass. We need to always use our God-given "B.S. detectors" when subjected to temptations of the devil. That is what Peach Blossom and I are trying to instill in our daughter, who is coming out of the cult mode she was in for nearly four years.

We recently mentioned to her that when she first got in the deal red flags were going up all around us, but we just couldn't get the message conveyed to her. I tell her now that she needs to keep her "B.S. detector" finely tuned and in constant readiness. As an example, one of the coolers that had seen corral time got in the house. There is a splotch of brown "bovine residue" on the top of this cooler. Every time I walked by it I would go "beep beep" showing her how a B.S. detector is supposed to work. She got the message. :-)

Only a relationship with the Lord and studying God's Holy Word will keep our B.S. detectors oiled and ready for battle with Satan. In our daughter's defense, it was her constant studying of the Bible and the hand of the Lord that woke her up and made her realize that she had been listening to lies and deceit. It was also the power of prayer from so many good folks and internet friends that helped to accomplish this deed. Thank you, everyone.
