After the recent election, I have tried to gather my thoughts, and decide how, or if at all, to respond on this forum. Our country has been designed to change from the grass roots upward rather than from the hierarchy downward. The changes we see in Washington are a reflection of grassroots America. Following is what I view as the problem as well as the solution. When we, as Christians, hear a truth that appeals to us we tend to say "Well I like that, surely God has a verse in his word to support this idea." We need to say something to the effect of "That sounds good, and I like it, but I will search God's word to see if I ought to be comfortable with it." We need to see what God's truth is, and how we need to be thinking, not try to see if God doesn't agree with our ideas. His truth is not a smorgasborg, in which we pick and choose according to our taste, it is all or nothing. Any changes begin with you and I, then our neighbors and friends until it reaches every nook and cranny of the nation. Sound like a lot of work doesn't it. That's what it will take, or so it seems to me. We need rivival. Revival refers to revitalizing Christians, not recruiting new ones, although that is also necessary. There are few who go to church, and hear about trusting God, then go home and actually do it; most Christians go to Church and hear about trusting God, and then talk about it, because it sound good to us. Is trusting God something you talk about or is it something you do? Have yourselves a good Sunday mornin', and great rest of the week too.
