Two ol' farmers each had a team of good horses. They argued about which team was the best. They hooked them trace to trace to see which team could pull the other one backwards. Neither team could muster a decisive victory. This continued for a couple of weeks, and which team finally won? The team that was fed the best! The Spirit and the flesh war against each other in our lives. So, in your life, does the Spirit of God win, or does the flesh win out. Which team do you feed? Do you spend time in prayer and bible study? It will make a difference in you life. Have yourselves a good Sunday mornin' and a great rest of the week.

This reminds me of a songs that the "Imperials" did years ago, entitled "Old Man's Rubble". Some of the words are as follow -
" Well deep within you there's a spiritual battle,
there's the voice of the darkness and the voice of the light.
And just by listening you've made your decision,
'cause the voice you hear is gonna win the fight . . ."

Just last Sunday on Cowboy Church Russ Weaver told of a man that said he had two dogs inside of him . One that was good and led him in the way of the lord and the other evil and led him the way of satan. He said they would get to fighting and when asked which one won he said" the one I feed."

Good thoughts, Shortgrass. We all make our own decisions and must live with the results whether those choices were good or bad.

On the subject of our free will, Sirach 15: 15-17 tells us: "If you choose you can keep the commandments; it is loyalty to do his will. There are set before you fire and water; to whichever you choose, stretch forth your hand. Before man are life and death, whichever he chooses shall be given him."

BMR, I've heard that story put a similar way, only it was a Native American and which wolf he fed inside him.

Everyone have a good Sunday and rest of the week. And I hope that big shot celebrity groundhog in PA sees his shadow tomorrow! Or is it the other way around, I forget?

If the SD prairie dog comes out of his hole today he will probably get blown away by the wind!

Around here it is either 6 more weeks of winter or a month and a half until spring. :D

BMR, it feels a lot like spring here the last couple days and a lot of snow has melted. Ground is frozen so of course it all runs off instead of more of it soaking in.

The only snow left here is the really hard core stuff we got in early Nov. The cows still know how to walk over the snow where it buried the fences too. Gonna be some fencin' to do when spring does get here!

I hear ya on the fencin'. Lots buried in this country as well. We get nice weather but those late storms can be brutal.
The days are stretching out nicely and the sun is getting a little power back. The hills are starting to bare off but still lots of huge drifts and deep enough snow on the flats.

I'm not real eloquent but I try to get my point across.

Our lesson this week is on "Knowing Jesus" and I explained it to my class this way. Everyone in my class knows I raise German Shepards and that they run free in my yard.

I can "tell" then how gentle they are and that they love people but if they have never met my dogs most people are very fearfull about getting out of a car at my house when they are surrounded by my dogs.

Many of the class have been here many times and they "know" my dogs and are not affraid but instead look forward to a visit witth them.

It is the same with Jesus -- - - - if you "know about him" you might be apprehensive about trusting him. However if you get to "KNOW " him you will look forward to each oppertunity to share and just be with him.

Thanks, Shortgrass. That was a pretty neat and concise way of stating our daily inner goings on.

George, you may not think you are very eloquent, but your example came across quite well. Thanks.

When our life on earth is over, all the monopoly pieces get put back in the box, and any earthy success really doesn't matter much at this point. Eternity looms out in front of us, and believe it or not, "forever" is quite a long time. We have two choices: eternal paradise of Heaven or eternal burning in Hell. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out the best of those two choices.
