Sometime in life I suspect we have all run across the fella with a big hat and a good yarn, and he thinks everyone is impressed with what a hand he is. We know it takes more than a hat and a yarn. One of the first qualities in any real hand is that self take a back seat to stock, hay, equipment or any number of other things. There are two areas I feel many Christians are either misunderstood or mistaken about. The first is that it is not about what one does to make themselves acceptable before God; rather it is all about what He has done to make men acceptable before Him. The other is often a person is seen as abused when they are a fine Christian. For example, someone may say that dear ol' Sally is as fine and loving Christian as ever walked, and look at all the problems in her life; if that is how God treats his servants, then I'm not sure I want to be one. Well again it is not at all about how much I get out of serving Him; rather it's about how much the Kingdom of God prospers from my service. It's just not about me, it's all about Him. It just takes more than a hat and a yarn to make a hand. Self takes a back seat. Well once again have yourselves a good Sunday Mornin'.
