Good food and exercise. Looks like Sparky, Soapweeds son, got plenty of both on his deer hunt. In the profession we are in, excercise is readily available, and we all recognize the value of excercizing our bodies, and a good diet. Paul points out to Timothy (1 Tim 4:8 ) "Bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of life that now is, and of that which is to come." What have you done this week to exercise yourself toward godliness. Paul encouraged Timothy, his good friend and spiritual son, to do just that. Well have yourselves a good Sunday mornin', and a great rest of the week. I've got to go exercise now, and feed myself from God's word ..................

Thanks for the Sunday message, Shortgrass. God provided natural renewable resources for mankind to live by. It is up to all of us to use these resources in a responsible manner pleasing to God.

Sparky did do quite a bit of exercise to get that buck. He said he followed it on foot for right at two miles, and got plenty wet slinking through the snowy/frosty grass of the early morning. He also said that he'd not had that hard of a physical workout since his days of high school football. We'll see how he feels this morning. :-)

I'll bet the deer will even feel honored gracing Sparky's living room wall instead of merely going out as a hood ornament on the beat-up front end of someone's once nice car.

Shortgrass, thank you for encouraging us here each week just as Paul encouraged Timothy.

Lots of hunters in this area got good food from pancake and chile/soup suppers put on by local community and 4-H clubs this weekend. The weather was cooperative for the hunters to get out and get some exercise to work it off.

Last year deer season was a mess after a blizzard and a 4-day power outage. Only hard core deer hunters and REA linemen were out and about last year at this time.
