Did you ever have a cow you like that had trouble, and when you came to help her she tried to hurt you? Happens all the time, but the ol' cowboy still helps her, and likes her. I draw two scriptural truths from that illustration. First God loves us because of who He is and not because of any thing we have or have not done. That is wonderful to think about. The second truth is of the "meddlin'" type. Why is it so easy to forgive that ol' cow that has tried to hurt us, and so impossible to forgive our neighbor, who God loves, and has given His life for, who may have hurt our feelings? That ought not so to be. He did teach us to pray "forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors." Dang! my toes are getting sore!! Well have yourselves a good Sunday mornin'……….

"Good Sunday Morning" is the first thing I look for Sat. Night or Sunday Morning. I miss it when it's not there. I, too can identify with today's lesson. Thanks again for Truly Inspired Words of Wisdom, Shortgrass.

Named her that cause she sure will. When she's got a young calf and u come up on her with a dog in your truck, she'll paw the ground and shake her head like a mexican fightin bull. She's sure in trouble now, real bigbellyed and way over do to calf. I've never seen a cow so wide. We were goin to catch her up yesterday run a arm in her. But it rained all fri night and most of sat. She don't act sick at all. She's a little old but these scrub cattle will calf into there 20's. She's nine. I guess I"ll give her a little more time. She might have twins. Givein her 2 cycles, she's 3 mos overdue unless she took later. But she's been big for 2 or better mos. And gettin biger.

Thanks Shortgrass for giving us this simple lesson in terms a rancher understands! Your post fits right in with what we read last night from 1 Corinthians 13:4-13 about the virtues of faith, hope, and love.

Reading over a commentary on this passage it was interesting to me that the word St Paul originally used for "love" was the Greek word "agape", which translates to the Latin word "caritas", which our English word "charity" comes from.

Sorry yall, my bad. Didn't meen to post about a cow problem on a sunday bible lesson. My bad, as usual. I'm caughin up blood every 5 mins or so. Laid out of church on acount of it. Its startin to get kind of scary. But I know god won't let nothin happen that I can't handle with his help.

I thought your story fit well. How we patiently put up with a cow that will hook ya, but no patience with a neighbor. The post was no accident.

Thanks shortgrass yeap my toes are a tad sore ;)
cowhunter I thought it fit right in and didnt see any hyjack either.
I guess we expect critters to act that way and love them the same, too bad we forget we are critters too LOL

today church was canceled due to the snow... reports say any where from 9 to 14 inches.. ( I would go with about 7")

we had a neighbor across the street,.. he works for the city.. a union guy... and not the nicest... well he shoveled his drive out and dumped it across the sidewalk of an older neighbors..

I shoveled up to the pile and cleared most of the walk.. but the pile was packed ice and well it pissed me off a bit...

a bit later the city truck came by and cleared the street.. since I was talking to one of our commissioners he cleared my side and drive really well.. when I asked him if he could move the pile he had left earlier.. so I could finish clearing the walk,... there was only one place for him to push it... and he did.. hope he gets his drive cleared as it sure is a mess again...

thanks ShortGrass, I hope he forgives me for putting him in such a bind,...

cowhunter, your post was a real life example that went right along with Shortgrass' post. Thank you. And may God give you strength and healing.

Thanks Shortgrass for giving me a different view on a situation exactly like you pictured. We forget that we are also animals and too often act accordingly.
