I had a discussion with a neighbor last week that I am sure many of you have also had. We were talking about what a shame it is that it is so hard to make any money in the ranching industry. Smaller ranches will require an off the farm income. If we didn't value the life style so much, we would quit. We mentioned the joy of raising a family on the ranch. We mentioned the quiet solitude, and the pleasures that are common place living closer to nature, such as stars in the sky or the Mocking Bird's song. We are truly blessed to have to trust God daily for success in our endeavors. We decided if making a nice income came at the expense of the live style, that we would keep what we have. So many people have sacrificed way too much to climb the corporate ladder. Just by virtue of the fact that we are struggling to hang onto the family farm says that most of us have priorities somewhat in line with what I believe our Maker would like. A great income would be nice, but we have the better reward, and we need to thank God for it. Have yourselves a good Sunday mornin', and a good rest of the week to enjoy.
