As I look across the prairie to Pikes Peak in the distance, I gaze across the fruited plains to the purple mountain's majesty. It is the same view that inspired Katherine Lee Bates to pen America the Beautiful. Well, it is a view of the same thing. Her vantage point was from atop the mountain, and mine is from the foot of the mountain. One of these days our view of the same things we see now will appear quite differently. My view of life and the Lord has changed drastically over the last 40 years. Truly He is more precious than when I first believed. Maybe that means that I have actually grown in my faith. I'll just bet that when I see the view from the top of the mountain it will be beyond my capability to imagine (and my imaginer works pretty good)! Today, I can truly say and mean "Even so, Lord Jesus, come quickly." As a young man, I had so much that I wanted to experience; today it means little. Have yourselves a good Sunday mornin'. And a good rest of the week too. Maybe this will be the week?
