Remember that ol' Rawhide series on TV? Gil Favors, Rowdy Yates & Wooster? The theme song:

Keep them doggies rollin, Rawhide!
No time to understand 'em,
Just ride, rope & brand 'em
Keep them doggies rollin, Rawhide!

As I continue a fresh look at the familiar, I'm glad our shepherd is not like that song suggests. He has time to understand His sheep. He provides rest in the green pastures if we have sense enough to take it; this week we see he also provides refreshment. I don't know a lot about sheep, but I understand they do not like running water, and are afraid of swift waters. A good shepherd provides still waters for his sheep to drink from. In Mark 4:35-40, there is an account of Jesus and the disciples encountering some rough water. After Jesus calmed the storm, He said to the disciples, "Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?" Are you experiencing raging waters in your life? He will ask us "Why are you afraid, where is your faith?" Have a good Sunday Mornin' and a great rest of the week. It is, indeed, refreshing to rest in our faith.

It's kind of hard to remember it is Sunday. All the days seem to run together when the cows are calving hard. A winter storm is coming late this afternoon which will last for the next couple of days. At times like this, God's help is always welcome and desperately needed. :-)
