We got out to a school play last night. First outing outher than Dr appt in weeks. One neighbor that has experienced a highly traumatic event just made the comment It is sure nice to see you this side of the grass. The meaning was not lost. He than gave Jan a hug and said he appreciated the caregiver. How I appreciated that. Set in with. a good rain tonight. Life is good. Littterally I mean it a great day to be this side of the grass. Have a good Sunday morning' and God bless.

Shortgrass, you have just made me more fully appreciate the "mini-blizzard" that is going on now in our neck of the woods. I am feeling a bit sad that we didn't prepare better, knowing it was coming. We could just as well have situated cattle behind shelter yesterday afternoon (even though the temperature was in the mid-60 degree range), instead of having to do it this morning in the cold, wind, and snow (now it is only 27 degrees).

This is a pretty good lesson on life, though. When we kick the bucket, I hope those same words won't come to mind, "I sure wished I'd have prepared better, knowing it was coming."

Oh man that is so powerful.

Good to see you get out of the House Short grass. it helps with the healing too.
Been sunny all week and the snow really melted and mud dried up. Today it is dark cloudy and a skiff of snow and snow showers. But it not gloomy the new calves are running races as we feed the cows. Now whose heart could be cloudy seeing that, and remembering today is a day of rest , and that we also remember Christ atonement.

Thanks Shortgrass, Soapweed, and others for your reminders and insights into faith.

Aren't we blessed to have so many people of faith willing to share their thoughts and understanding of scriptures with us?

My congregation, one of four churches in our parish is currently searching for a pastor. We truly are blessed to have several people capable and willing to help with services in the interim. This four point parish has quite the distance between the 'furthest outposts', over 120 miles, I believe. Fortunately, there are people at each of the distant churches, and a couple of others in the larger town, so we aren't deprived of good messages while waiting for a 'real' pastor. All relate the scriptures to their, and our lives.

We went to Chadron, NE for the funeral of a good friend last week. Burial was at his 'hometown' cemetery in SD. All the caring and respect for Jim and his family shown by those attending services, and the time for sharing after the burial, and sharing stories of our memories of him was a 'blessing amid sorrows' of losing him from this life.

The mixed 'blessings' experienced by Shortgrass and Soapweed, and Jim's family recently seem like a continuing lesson of the blessings we can have in situations which seem far from being a blessing, except that we are people of faith.

Thank you for sharing, guys, and I thank God for giving us the great blessing of friends.
