I don't think that I have ever hooked to a gooseneck trailer and had all the lights and brakes work without a lot of fooling around.

Had to take a tractor to the shop today. Hooked up the electrics and - nothing. no lights or brakes. Turned out that someone had pulled the wires out by the roots and they all shorted out.

Finally got underway with brakes, one turn signal and marker lights.

There has to be a better way. Maybe I ought to get each member of the crew their own gooseneck along with a key so no one else could use it!!

Cowpuncher,

It sounds like someone forgot to unplug your trailer plug and jerked it abit - it could happen to anybody - and anybody could fix it or have it fixed. Its frustrating as hell being slowed down by someone else's sloth, but your least loss is likely to fix-er up and forget it. Even if you know the trailer vandal, it wouldn't do to give them the butt chewing they deserve. It's not about the accident, its about letting the trailer sit without standing up to responsibility. Cheer up puncher, you're gonna need it when you get that tractor bill.
