Went and picked up Ruby and Skookum our new blue ticks tonight. Man that guy has some sweet dogs-can't wait to get after something with these two-I've had them an hour and I love them already.

But they are Ty's dogs. Hope you are not trying to alienate their affections. :-)

Well they're Dad's dogs when it's time to buy dog food lol. It was late so we put them in the barn last night-I heard a commotion at 4'00 this A'M and went out Ruby had jumped over a 6 foot wall and was chasing cats around the barn lol. Were at almost 20 hours of daylight up here right now-still light at 11'00 and already light at 4'00.

Skookum and his two new number one fans.

Skookum is six months old-his Daddy is a big dog 110 pounds in hunting shape-he's won three trials in Montana and two in Alberta with him for what that's worth lol. I can't belive how strong they are for their size.

They're tie broke-Ty will take them out for a run everyday-he's got hockey camps to train for so probably will rollerblade behind them. Going to be training them too so will get lots of running.

NR- Am I glad its you that has those hounds and not me...

I had hounds years ago and used them hunting coyotes -- and they do work good when you're using them- really can sound off when they're on a track or have one holed up...I had two older ones and a pup-- only problem I had with them with hunting was keeping the pup from taking off on a deer, antelope, or elk trail....

But the problem arose when you weren't using them...They had to be kept tied up or they'd take off hunting on their own- all they'd do is lay around and eat, sleep, and sh*t all day and howl and bay at the coyotes all night...And those skinny old devils can about eat you out of house and home...

Finally after a couple years I traded them off....

It can't be anyworse than when the Pyr decides to come in close to the house and bark its head off at 3am when you are sound asleep.... Oh, and of course my lovely, beautful, kind and understanding wife decided that we needed a couple more so now the old dog goes off and the two anatolian pups join in... Enough to make you shoot out of bed like a dart until your relize the dogs are barking at a semi 3 miles away.

Aww my pyrenees barked at yotes all night long-it takes alot to get me P'O'ed at a dog lol. Here's a better pic of 'Skookum'. Were going to use them mostly retrieving wounded stuff for outfitters.

I like listening to beagles...I had two and you could tell what the were trailing by the pitch of there baying...... They were the best dogs....
Northern Rancher, you're dogs are really nice.....Keep us updated on their success........
