We've got 2 3/4 inches since 2:30 this afternoon. I got a call from the sherriff's office my "NEW" to me grain bin was in the ditch by my farm so I drove up there. It was blown an 1/8 of a mile over a new fence thru the ditch over the highway and ended up in some trees across the highway. Know one got hit but I bet it looked wild. I put a semi tire and wheel inside it and ran a chain thru the top hooked it to the pickup and towed it a 1/4 mile to it's final resting place. Next time I move one of those I'm going to get the cement finished. They sure dont stay together when the wind blows them around. But on the bright side my corn really needed a drink as did our pastures so I guess I can sacrifice a $125 grain bin for a million dollar rain.

Rain gauge reads 4 5/16 thats plenty for now. The weather man said this morning were headed into a dry trend so if this missed us we were S.O.L. but I'm happy.

thats a hell of rain. seems you called it a million dollar rain, you must have needed it. i'm glad some came your way. i wouldn' t give a nickle for a shower right now, i'm sure in a couple weeks from now i probably will though. we have dodged some pretty nasty storms the last couple nights. hopefully we'll miss the rest of them too.

They said on the news last night were 7"s behind normal for the year. I have some late planted corn that has'nt canopied yet and was very dry it'll canopy in a week now. Water and heat makes corn grow. Our haycrop here is marginal this year so I need all the silage I can get.

Good for you, Denny. Love it when a plan comes together. Funny how a post about a ruined grain bin is actually a celebration. Everything in perspective. Have a great day :!:
