Getting ready for the graduation. It was an outdoor ceremony, and the weather was "threatening" the whole time. Rain came through several times, not very far away, but the 90 minute graduation was pulled off with no one getting wet. :-) Here is a tip for attending graduations--take a book, preferably a small one that kind of fits inside the graduation program. It certainly makes the time pass faster. :-)

A beautiful tooled saddle at King's Saddlery and Museum. This one was made by the Ray Holes Saddlery of Grangeville, Idaho.

A good day, even without a book. The piano mover looks like a recipe for disaster. By the looks of that store I will have to pay a visit to Sheridan.

Did you ever meet Zane Garstad-the director of admissions-we had a good visit with him when Ty was checking out schools in February-he's a displaced Canuck and Sheridan's hockey coach lol. It's hard to find a nicer place to go than Sheridan, Wyoming-we plan every trip to go through there-usually get to visit our buddies in Buffalo and Kaycee too. A 'tack' store doesn't quite do King Ropes justice-you could go through the museum a 100 times and still find something new to see. Congratulations to the Kosmo Kid.

Congratulations to the Graduates, and to you and Peachblossom as well...I know your very proud of his accomplishment as you should be.

That saddle museum looks like a very interesting place to visit....too bad its so far from here. LOL But if I ever am in that area I'll be sure to check it out.

Congrats
Having been(not attended) to Sheridan College its one of the nicest friendliest small junior colleges in the country very pretty country up there.

Soapweed, belated congrats to your son, you and your wife must be pretty proud of him. What was your son's major?

Congrats Kosmo! I once attended college in Cedar City Utah for 1 whole year where I majored in whisky and girls with a minor in poker and another in rodeo. I am glad to see he took it a lot more serious than I! Aren't saddle shops great! :D Even I might find a rope without misses in it, in that joint! :D

Congrats to Kosmo and his Kutie :D Sheridan is a nice town, I stop in Kings every time I get down there. I've never had enough time to really look at all the stuff they have there but ii usually come home with a new rope or 2 at least.

I missed this thread somehow, but I don't want to miss telling Kosmo and his lady "Congratulations."

I too, like Sheridan. We've been King's Saddlery customers for over
46 years. They treat us well there. Bruce is the son who runs the
Saddlery. Sadly, John passed away at a young age and so did
Bobby. Bobby was in charge of the rope part of the store. Good guys, all.
Bill King is in Real Estate in Sheridan, and he is the oldest.

Zane Garstead went to Sheridan College when our daughter did and
she always thought so much of him. Isn't he the rodeo coach now?
He was at one time.

Thanks for the pictures, Soap. Nice graduation.

Zane is director of admissions for Sheridan College now-Ty and I had a good visit with him when we went down checking out schools. He's 'Mr. Hockey' in Sheridan-I spent a few hours at the rink with him watching him coach the Sheridan Bantam team-they have a couple players that show some potential. Zane's a good guy for sure. I really liked the way they have the artificial ice outdoor rink set up.

I really enjoyed the couple hours that were spent at King's Saddlery. They have some used cowboy-type books for sale, and I was excited to find one of my all-time favorite books available there. It is called The Cowboy, with photography by Bank Langmore and text by Ron Tyler, originally printed in December of 1975. My parents gave me one of these books for Christmas in 1977, and it has ever since rather inspired me and made me proud to be a cowboy. I loaned out the book and didn't see it for several years, until the borrower was changing houses and found it to give it back. My oldest son seems to be just as intrigued with my book as am I, and he has had it "borrowed" for the last few years. Anyway, it was with great delight that I was able to purchase a second copy for $38. The original price was $19.95, but it has been out of print for years.
