Granny's Chest of Drawers

This was Mr. Lilly's Granny's. It is really rough shape. Not really as far as needing repairs...it's got a couple minor things I gotta do to it...but overall it's a solid piece of furniture. I just couldn't let them throw it out when they were cleaning out her house. So it's been sitting in my back room for a while.....until I had time...and figured out what I wanted to do to it. So....I started working on it yesterday afternoon.

Before....told ya it was rough.

The vaneer was coming loose so I peeled it off.....only about half of it came off easy...the rest I had to work to get it off.

Moved it into the kitchen so I can see what I'm doing.....and put the paint on areas that I wanted....

I wanted a faux leather look.....so started with the brown paper.

Got both sides and the top covered....

Lightly stained it....to give it more of a leather look.

And now working on putting the fun stuff on.....I think Granny would like it.

This kind of stuff is always amazing for me to see. I really wish I was artistically talented.

Thanks ya'll Im having so much fun!!!! Here's where I'm at with it tonight. Paintbrushes washed...callin it quits until tomorrow. I need sleep!!! lol

I still have a fewthings to do to it...several coats of sealer and some trim....then hardware. Almost there....I will post a pic when it's all done
