Howdy Murph - I was thinking some of those steers look pretty fleshy to be going out to the field. Do you give them feed out there to keep them from loosing condition the first while?

No feed just good green wheat. These steers just came in off of another wheat field so the are used to wheat. Even as fleshy as they are they still are projected to gain 2.5 to 3 lbs. or more per day. We just bring them in this time of year and run a whip over their backs, anything close to 800 lbs goes to the feedyard, these cattle in the picture weighed 625 so they should be ripe about the time the wheat pasture runs out or about May 15th.

hey murf
pic's look great
all them black's and the wheat looks
we got to keep all of our cattle but had to fence them in smaller areas so the farmers can cut some of that $5 wheat
i hope they get it but these hail storms make me think we should all graze out
but what do i know
until later

Very nice working correls...and cattle...but I'm partial to the last picture with the matching shirts...that's a keeper...I enjoyed your pictures...post more! Thanks

Thanks for all the nice comments. This was the first time I tried posting pictures without the help of my wife. I'm still not sure I did it the easiest way but at least you could see them. Maybe I'll get better and do it again.
