We had a small bunch to do today, so we saved it till after school and all the kids could come help. Weather was perfect for a change...

Hubby doing the cutting...along with cuttin his thumb! Ouch!

Great branding pictures, Jassy. That is quite a shot of the horse that is stumbling. Did I ever mention one of my pet peeves is a horse that stumbles?  :-)

I feel for your hubby cutting his thumb. Castrating knives alway seem to have a pretty keen edge, and it is so easy to slip and cut yourself.

It was a beautiful sunny fall day today. We branded our new bulls at the ranch where they will spend the winter. Can you believe I forgot to take any pictures? I did forget. :(

Great pictures as always Jazzy!!.....that fella with the polkadotted cap on....reminded me of my middle brother. He once had a green n white polkadotted cap....he wore that thing till it was threadbare...I thought we were gonna hafta have a funeral for his hat when he finally quit wearin the daggum thang.

Nice pics.

That Polka Dot hat appears to be a Welder's hat, typically worn with the brim backwards under the welding sheild to help prevent pre-mature balding due to hot sparks.........

Best Regards..........

Yup,,,"Bud" never leaves home without that hat...he's a single dad raising 3 teenage kids by himself...and he laughs about that hat and how it embarrases his 17yr old daughter..lol He wears it to town too! He's quite the guy. I'm sure when that hat is gone the kids will celebrate instead of having a funeral...

Soapweed...I thought that camera was part of your morning wardrobe???lol
