H, I got my turkey tag in the mail today.

So what do you carry when you're hunting grizzlies? 300 cal? That's what our oldest likes for black bears but grizzlies are just a little bit bigger!

Hey, speaking of tags, we had a weird one happen here this week. Our two oldest sons applied for moose tags in a "low-chance draw" area this year with the intent and belief that they would not get a cow or bull tag this year.

That way, they would both be eligible for a Pool A tag (allowing them to take a cow or bull rather than just a calf) next year, which is when they are planning to go hunting again.

Well guess what, their tags came this week and one of them drew a bull tag in an area where there was supposed to be 0% chance of drawing!!

So now he cannot draw a cow or bull tag next year because we can only draw every other year. Hmmm, what to do with a bull tag when we're not going moose hunting this year?? Kind of a waste as I am sure that there are lots who apply and don't draw a tag.

We have scads of mule deer on the ranch and could probably get an anterless tag most years but it's a draw for either sex and it will be 4 years between tags for us.. We have been drawn three years apart but not this year.

CONGRATS! :D :D :D Do ya need a guide or a wrangler or a cook or someone to be bait? Ready and willing to do any or all! I want to get one with my bow someday! Probably won't happen but to me it would be awesome! Great job ya lucky sucker! Can't wait to see the pictures! :D

Did someone mention bait?? We're not allowed to use bait for bears here, fair chase only.
It is sometimes difficult to shoot over your shoulder at a full run. :D

Burnt, my 300 Win Mag does the trick just fine. I would be taking my hunting trip a year early if I were you.

We got drawn in one of those earn a buck mulie zones-need to shoot a couple does to get a buck tag-pretty sweet place several thousand acres and were pretty much only hunters allowed.
