Habs fans have tears in beer.

hmmmmmm...... I don't remember rubbing anyones noses in it when Calgary lost or the Oilers failed to qualify.
But this was a depressing loss. It is quite safe to say the Flyers were outplayed the entire series from every angle but one; goaltending. It was also depressing because I was hoping Briere would get his nose rubbed in his decision to take less money to play for Philly.
Oh well, the Habs were the youngest team in the playoffs, their puture looks bright.
So..... NEXT YEAR!!!!!!

I'm Sorry Silver,Canadian friend, but I'm with BMR...NOT NOT NOT a Hab fan.

I justify that with.....all the other teams that MAY make it to the end are full of Good Canadian boys{As is Montreal}that will bring the cup home even if it isn't under the Canada title.......GO PENQUINS :D :D

I know no matter who wins the cup it will be lifted by Canadians, and many American teams have more Canadians on them than teams north of the border, but it's been 15 years since the cup has lived here.
The Habs are an exciting team to watch, with all the heart in the world and a managemnent that noone could dislike.
Personally, I'd rather see Sid the Kid suffer for a couple of years before he holds up the cup. I really like him, but things have come to him awfully fast. Which isn't to say he doesn't deserve it, but I would like to see him wait. And after the Hossa deal, the team seems kinduv bought, and I hate that. So..... go Stars!!!! .......I guess

Montreal Canadians hockey team...Habs....french nickname.

Silver.....hate to admit my prob with them is a more political thing   After the reffing issue with homeboy Shane Doan and the Koivu "french speaking" fiasco I just CANNOT hope for a team that may bring the cup to Montreal...

Now if the team and managment went under the name, uhhh say Calgary Flames....that I could go  What I'm saying...good enough team.... :)

Oh well i'm not a habs fan but it is nicer to see a canadian team in the finals. The city if not the province of that team goes nuts. IE) the oil or flames. It isn't going to happen this year . Oh well Congrats to the pens on winning seven in a row to start the playoffs. Every team in history to do that in the NHL playoffs has gone win the Lord Staney's mug. You kinda gotta think the odds are with them.

Yeah, I understand what you're saying Mrs.G. I just got stuck rooting for them at about 6 yrs old and have never been able to shake the habit
Besides, who else has a chance to knock off the (ugh) Yankees (shudder) for the title of most professional championships?

Who or what is a Hab Say what?

Habitants is the name used to refer to both the French settlers and the inhabitants of French origin who farmed the land along the two shores of the St. Lawrence Gulf and River in what is the present-day Province of Quebec in Canada. The term was used by the inhabitants themselves and the other classes of French Canadian society from the 17th century up until the early 20th century when the usage of the word declined in favor of the more modern agriculteur (farmer) or producteur agricole (agricultural producer). The habitants live on the seigneur's property paying him with food as rent.
