This is certainly holding true this morning. Our gale-force south wind from yesterday is still gale-force, but is now out of the northwest instead. The temperature is now 73, so at least it is cooler, but the wind is probably 30-something miles per hour. We depend on wind, but dislike the "excess" on some occasions. Most of our livestock drinking water is powered by windmills, so two or three days of no wind can also put us in a bind.
