Our little town isnt big enough to celebrate most holidays but we have a nice doings for the 4th every year. We get lots of folks who moved away as kids that come back and it is a fun time to catch up and visit. Thought i'd share a few parade pictures with you all. Lindsay carried the flag and led the procession.

Then came the Livingston Family and a shot back in time at some of the folks who helped settle the west, like Jim Bridger and Porter Rockwell.

Buffalo Bill Cody lost some weight and looks dumber than i remember. :D Scott is a poor re-enactor but a great cattleman and a good friend.

The Atherley family did a fine fine job and won some prize money for thier efforts.

The Asay's always throw lots of candy and are fine folks. :D

The Walker kids went a' horseback and they looked like they were having fun.

A crowd favorite was Layne and his grandparents along with thunderbolt, his steed. That lil' guy is my cousins kid and he is a character. :D Think he gets it from his mothers side of the family.

Next was the 4H float. My mom is the 4H leader for our part of the desert. She has kids in ther livestock club that show calves, lambs, hogs, turkeys, horses and other gals teach sewing and cooking to boot. They all rode on a float and depicted what they wanta be when they grow up.

Thought they did a great job and won some money too! :D

Littlest H is the kid in camo saluting and honoring our soilders. Pretty proud of the kid. He's a good helper and in my back pocket most days.

Little H plans to become a veteranian. :D She is a beautiful young lady and has so many talents i lose track. If i do say so myself.

More family floats like the Pehrson/Ekker family float.

And Holden on his 2 wheeled japanese quarter horse.

I think this bunch were Pehrsons but out'a towners cause i dont know them.

What's a parade without fire trucks? :D Our fire department of 6 was well represented even though one fire fighter stayed on the sidelines snapping pictures.

Our used structure truck we bought at a surplus sale in Michigan. Might be older but is a good truck and a lifesaver out here.

Porter Rockwell was a Mormon who is well know for his exploits in the west. RJ did a fine job pretending to be him.

Peyton and her grandma enjoying ther festivities!

A second shot of the littlest cowboy rides again. :D

My favorite entry was the Adam's brothers and thier take on the second ammendment!
It was a great day to celebrate being an American. We had booths and games and a good supper. Hope ya'll had FINE Celebration and took a moment to remember all we have been blessed with and all the sacrifices made so we can live how and where we do! God Bless America and have a fine afternoon!

Thanks, leanin' H, for taking us along to your small town affair. The 4th doesn't get much better as far as holidays are concerned. Family, friends, food, parades, and blowing stuff up. What more can one ask for? :D

I HATE PHOTOBUCKET!!! Why in the he!! can't i post pics that simply show up the size i select instead of this crap???? Sorry they require a magnifying glass to veiw them. I am done posting pictures to this site until macon either figures out a user friendly way to post them directly here to ranchers.net or i find a site that works for me Photobucket and picturepush used to work great. Now they are complicated pieces of garbage!!!! :x

Thanks Zilly. We did everything you mentioned but blow stuff up. Fireworks out here would result in ending the world this year. It's wayyyyyyy to dry to even think of setting of a single firecracker. Other than that, we had a great day. :D

We can click on the pictures and they come up a larger size. I'm not saying Photobucket isn't a problem, just that we can see the pictures larger if we do that.

Thanks for taking us along. We are having our 100th year Centennial here
this weekend. Maybe I'll get some pictures.

I enjoyed the parade, even if I did have to blow each one up. I second, third or whatever number I am. I too, am done posting pictures until someone finds a more user friendly operation.

Looks like a good time! ... :D . Thanks for posting! I sadly cut the legs off of my first fawn this evening while mowing hay and had to put it out of it's misery real fast, so I am already on an emotional edge....the last thing us ranchers need is photobucket jerking us around while trying to post the good!....:D :D :D

Up here for birds and it might work for fawns is to attach a pipe out the side of the tractor and hang a couple of chains to flush them out.

Great pictures, Leanin' H. We get to "blow stuff up" when we enlarge your photos, so it is all in keeping with the Fourth of July spirit. :-) Looks like your family and your community all had a wonderful day. Thanks for taking us along.
