Want to wish all you folks a real good New Year.

There are some things that especially make a good year in our lives and I don't think it comes down to what we possess or how much money we have.
Just a few.
If you can feel reasonably good most of the time, regardless of age.
If you can get around under your own power.
If you have someone of the opposite sex who you know, without a doubt, loves you, and you love that person.
If your kids and grandkids are all healthy.
If you have enough to live comfortably and do some things you want to do. Many don't.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Recipe for a Happy New Year
Author Unknown

To leave the old with a burst of song
To recall the rights and forgive the wrong;
To forgive the thing that binds you fast
To the vain regrets of the year that's past;

To have the strength to let go your hold
Of the non-worthwhile of the days grown old;
To dare to go forth with a purpose true;
To the unknown task of the year that's new,

To help your brother along the road
To do his work and lift his load;
To add your gift to the world's good cheer,
Is to have and to give a Happy New Year.

}{appy New Year Ya'll

Thank you for those posts, Been There and Jersey. They made me realize how good I and my family have it. We are the most fortunate people in the world, all 6 billion of them! Thank you, Lord.

Good poem with a great message miss lilly. I might just swipe it to end my column this week.

Here's what I ended this week's column with:

One beautiful December evening Huan Cho and his girlfriend Jung Lee were sitting by the side of the ocean. It was a romantic full moon, when Huan Cho said "Hey baby, let's play Weeweechu."
"Oh no, not now, let's look at the moon" said Jung Lee.
"Oh, c'mon baby, let's you and I play Weeweechu. I love you and it's the perfect time," Huan Cho Begged.
"But I rather just hold your hand and watch the moon."
"Please Jung Lee, just once play Weeweechu with me."
Jung Lee looked at Huan Cho and said, "OK, we'll play Weeweechu."
Huan Cho grabbed his guitar and they both sang... "Weeweechu a merry Christmas, Weeweechu a merry Christmas, Weeweechu a merry Christmas, and a happy New Year."

I have always use the New Year to make amends for the wrongs I might have done either with or without knowing I was hurting someone.
I have asked those with whom I know to forgive me and I am asking any in here whom I might have caused any pain. I am sorry if I have caused anyone to feel less than the special gift they are.

The main issue I am working on this year is coming to terms with people who will not accept your apology or accept your offer of friendship. I have always shurgged it off but this year I am having trouble letting it go.
I know alot of people talk the talk about saying I'm sorry but those who truely know me, Know when I say sorry I really do mean it. Maybe I am really having an issue with hypocrisy. Anyone have any clues on how to deal and accept that ?
Been told I am tooooo tender hearted and wear my heart on my sleeve ...nope that is not something I am willing to change.
Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year
The only thing that we get to take with us is the memories and the deads we have done to help one another. You never know what a smile might mean to another.

Since I'm going to be gone for the rest of the day, I'd like to send my well wishes for the new year to each and every one of you. May 2006 bring all your hopes and dreams come true. Happy New Year, everybody, and remember, if you go out this evening, drive safe. I wouldn't want to hear of losing any of our little family we got going on here.

Ranchwife, Thank you but I really wasn't offended. I thought it was funny and it ended up providing me with a lot of laughs!
Hopefully a few others got a chuckle out of it all, as well. :lol:

All the Best in 2006. :)

My favorite line from my favorite movie by my favorite movie actor:

Captain Nathan Brittles (John Wayne) in She Wore a Yellow Ribbon " Never apologize..Its a sign of weakness"....

It takes a great deal of character strength to apologize quickly out of one's heart rather than out of pity. A person must possess himself and have a deep sense of security in fundamental principles and values in order to genuinely apologize.

An apology is a good way to have the last word.

Apology is a lovely perfume; it can transform the clumsiest moment into a gracious gift.
Margaret Lee Runbeck
And that is NOT what John Wayne felt ...he was reading a script

I've always followed my father's advice: he told me, first to always keep my word and, second, to never insult anybody unintentionally. If I insult you, you can be goddamn sure I intend to. And, third, he told me not to go around looking for trouble.

Must be the reason I used to play hookey so much :wink: :lol: :lol:

I agree with your Dad--and if you think before you talk you can spend a lot less time talking making apologies!!!

greg- Hope you and everyone has a safe Happy New Year....
