Happy Thanksgiving

So rider, are you a Democrat? Tex is a Democrat, and this may be where the trouble lies. :-)

Soap, I quit saying I am a Democrat or Republican. I support views of both--when they are right-- at different times. You seem to be stuck on a name instead of an ideology. That shows how shallow your thought process is. If you think you are right, argue with me on the points. I can almost always support my point of view and am willing to change it if confronted with evidence.

I have the ability to look into issues, whether they be from either side, study them, and not just swallow false or misleading talking points.

I believe the Republican party, in general, is better, except in the case of incompetence, corruption, immorality, or self interest over national interest. I personally don't thing the republican leadership is anything but a group of fascists taking our country down the wrong path.

Someone as simple as you can ignore these things.

You do a disservice to democracy.

Tex I have looked at this thread a few times and I still have no idea what's going on. I do find it very unusual that the post you choose to respond to is soapweeds.

I will respond to you, too, RR.

I don't know what this post is about either, however, I don't like to be labeled as to political party by someone other than myself.

It was meant to be somewhat of a joke, believe it or not. When you see the little "winkie" and "smiley" thingies, it means that I am trying to be tongue-in-cheek.

That being said, I have found that there are some things in life that can't be blamed on your wife, or kids, or hired hand, or dog, or the full moon. At times like this, it is easy to blame the Democrats, and as often as not it is their fault anyway. Okay here is another winkie and a smiley. :-) I am once again trying to be tongue-in-cheek.

Okay, now for the cold hard truth, without any winkies or smilies:

Having knocked around this old world for 56 years and a few days, and being a student of observation, here are a few noteworthy conclusions that I have drawn. These are generalizations, to a certain extent, but they do tend to hold true.

Democrats are more lacking in personal responsibility. They are less committed, more willing to accept grant money, more willing to feed from the public trough. They gloss over the truth, and come up with words like "entitlements" hoping to justify their actions. They want nothing to do with God. Their consciences have long since been seared over, from lack of use. Most of all, they lack a sense of humor. You, Tex, have reaffirmed my evaluation of Democrats.

By the way, Tex, are you the old Econ 101?

The whole thread is one big joke, and I was just trying to help it along.

Soap, sorry to burst what you think you know, I rate personal responsibility very high--along with public service. I haven't accepted grant money, and in general don't believe in it. I also don't feed from the public trough, never have. I don't want to gloss over the truth, and in general don't believe in entitlements. I do believe we have had a SS system that has been systematically abused by politicians, and I don't think everyone is paying their fair share for SOCIAL SECURITY--there are too many exceptions for the rich. If they don't feel like contributing some of the wealth they have generated to the old in our society, I say we should have prevented their heartlessness in our country in the first place and made them make their money from some other society. I live continually thinking about God, and what God would want me to do, and if you have read a lot of my posts, you would have seen that. I still don't believe in using God as a tool for my purposes, it is the other way around. We should strive to be used by God for His purpose. I have a conscience that extends beyond my own self interests, something you should have also noticed on this board. As far as sense of humor, you are making the assumption that what you said was funny. That assumption is often a sign of hubris, but I will take your word that you meant well.

Soap, if you want to argue any of the points above in any subject, please do. Bring why you see things the way you do, and I will also. It is entirely possible that we might both be right. I look forward to the debate.

I still do resent you stereotyping me with nothing when you have so much fertile ground with which to make your case.

Tex, you showed integrity with your response, and I appreciate that. I do believe you are deep down a Republican after all. :-)

As far as commitment, maybe you and I should both show our wives more attention and our computers less.

Have a great day, and kiss and make-up with your little lady. I believe she needs some lovin'. :-) My wife tells me, to tell you, to tell your wife that she should appreciate that you are on the computer. This gives her access to the television remote or she can read a good book without you bothering her. If you are on the computer, you are not habitating the bars and honky-tonks and fooling around with other women. Go to bed when she does. You can always get up in the middle of the night to mess with the computer. :-)

Have a great Sunday, and don't forget to go to church. :-)

I have heard of Cybersex pages, online dating services, fetish URL's and a few others causing problems between spouses or couples. But this is the first time I have heard of a Ranchers message board causing problems.

Personally my wife does not read what I write, having to listen to me in person is enough for her. She can only take so much of me in a day and that time is getting shorter and shorter.

So rider maybe you should stop reading it!
