In the latest Cattlemen magazine (page 40) There is an article about CCA's change of position on the "own use" provision which allowed Canadians to bring up cheaper generic US Ivermectin for use in their own herds. CCA is now supporting the removal of this exemption and siding with the Vet Med Association and pharmacuetical companies. This one product saved Canadian producers millions of dollars in darn tough times.

Who is the CCA representing on this issue? Hard to believe it is the producers.

I know the SSGA passed a resolution at the convention to support the continued importing of it. Seemed a bit strange as Ivomec is a good sponser of the Convention but it was a member vote and the members voted to keep the imports.

:) Yah, I'' just bet that a producer vote among all CCA members would have produced those results Bill.

But mulitnational companies have NO influence on our industry groups!
