I hear people saying we don't need this war
I say there's some things worth fighting for
What about our freedom and this piece of ground
We didn't get to keep 'em by backing down
Now they say we don't realize the mess we're getting in
Before you start your preaching let me ask you this my friend

Have you forgotten how it felt that day?
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside going thru a living hell
And you say we shouldn't worry 'bout bin Laden
Have you forgotten?

They took all the footage off my T.V.
Said it's too disturbing for you and me
It'll just breed anger that's what the experts say
If it was up to me I'd show it everyday
Some say this country's just out looking for a fight
Well after 9/11 man I'd have to say that's right

Have you forgotten how it felt that day?
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside going thru a living hell
And you say we shouldn't worry 'bout bin Laden
Have you forgotten?

Now I've been there with the soldiers
Who've gone away to war
And you can bet that they remember
Just what they're fightin' for

Have you forgotten all the people killed?
Some went down like heros in that Pennsylvania field
Have you forgotten about our Pentagon?
And all the loved ones that we lost and those left to carry on
Don't you tell me not to worry about bin Laden
Have you forgotten?

Have you forgotten?

Nor have I!!!

Worked overtime at the hospital last night and watched alot of the cable networks cover minute-by-minute details of 9/11!!! Had tears in my eyes as I headed home at 7:30 this morning and this song came on the radio....followed by Toby Keith's "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue"!!!

Me either...I remember being sick to my stomach when I first heard about it. Was at a homecare clients house when her daughter phoned...we sat stunned watching the T.V coverage  Her husband a World War 2 vet cried really hard

I just got off the tractor and was listening to Glenn Beck...........he had a good tribute and show. I kept thinking about what I did that day.

I can remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I first heard!! I was heading home from a night shift and the hubby called and said "Have you heard?".....got right home, glued myself to the t.v. and preceeded to cry myself through at least one box of Kleenex!!! I remember asking myself the same thing that millions of the rest of us were asking.......................................................

WHY???????

Five years ago I was feeding silage to the cows and watch the whole thing happen on tv.......I went and got hubby out of the shop so he could wittness the destruction........ And the sky was quite..... No planes in the air, no trails of white in the sky.........

I remember oh so well. Was sitting at my computer doing some e-mailing after treating a bull calf we had for grain overload... It was such a beautiful day here, sky so blue and than that.. Later that day I stepped outside and the lack of planes was stiking until we saw some contrails flying over the farm. Found out later it was Air Force one and some little friends flying escort back east....Don't think I slept that night...

I and a buddy were on our way to Husker Harvest Days.....stopped in town and saw the pictures of the first plane, thought it was a tragic accident.

a few miles down the road, the radio told of the second plane. we knew instantly that we were under attack.

we went on to HHD and I have never seen such a somber sad crowd. it was truly a life altering event, no matter where you were.

I was cleaning feedlots that day. Worked for a couple hours after daylight and came in for breakfast. Heard on the radio that " a plane had struck the WTC". I thought "light plane/accident". Finished my breakfast and went back to work.
An hour or so later my wife came out and said you better come in and watch the news channel.
Spent the rest of the day glued to the TV and watching the sky. What I remember most is the feeling of helplessness or uselessness I had.
I realize that the images of the towers falling are painful to a lot of people, but personaly, I think they should be broadcast daily until those responsible are brought to justice or killed.
That was a scary day. Just wondering what the "F" was going to happen next.
I'll be happy to never have to go through another like it.

See it as clear today as I did then-- we were loafing that morning because my sister ( the FBI Agent -now retired , whose specialty is terrorism and counterterrorism) and her husband (airline pilot) were visiting....I was drinking coffee and heard on the radio a plane had flown into the towers-- turned on the TV and I woke my sister and her husband up and they were watching with us when the second plane flew into the second tower and it became apparent this was no accident- I remember the first words out of her mouth-- "Al Quaeda"...Then when I looked at her she said, "Osama Bin Laden and Al Quaeda finally got it done"...

Spent most of the rest of the day just watching the happenings- and discussing how our government had tied the hands of, and neutered the law enforcement and intelligence agencies that knew this would come......

I remember that morning like it was yesterday...... just walked into the in-laws for a quick coffee before we got started combining for the day. MIL told us she'd just heard on the radio about the first plane hitting, I ran to the tv and turned it onto a news channel. We all sat there, just watching it all happen with total disbelief even though it was unfolding right before our eyes. I don't think the combine got rolling till after lunch. For days, I sat in front of the tv, hoping more people would be found alive.

Last night, I watched a documentary on CBC about the men who spent day after day there. Now they are all sick and dying from inhaling the toxic smoke and dust as they looked through all that rubble for survivors.

Found out a week or so after it happened, my husband's cousin had visited the WTC the day before while she was in New York on holidays. If it had been that day instead ......... don't even want to think about it.

I will never forget.....I was teaching and went to the office to get mail. The tv was on and the first plane had hit the first building and I stood there shocked and asking those around me did they see the 2nd plane OMGAWD
I had to get back to class but I went to give Morgan and Kaitlyn a hug ....I had to bring Kaitlyn down to me since her teacher had lost all control and was crying and walked out of the class.
I remember goign home and being numb crying for those who lost loved ones ...........
I could only pray for the loss of life and could not understand till I got the call
My one and ONLY cousin was in tower 2 and he had not called his Dad , my uncle. He is my fathers only brother and he only had my cousin.......We waited 3 days till they offered to declare him dead. My uncle said NO and would not sign the forms for 3 months.........3 months later my dad got a call they had found my uncle with a note saying he could no longer take the pain and wanted to rest.
I have not been to NYC since before the attacks and I have no plans of goign back. No I did not watch all the coverage and wanted the day to pass without any notice .................
All I want is peace and the quite of being able to mourn alone.

On that day I was watching the news on tv when the first plane hit and I thought it was an accident. I was about to leave home to meet a fellow several miles away to move some hay for me. I didn't have a radio in that pickup. When I met him he asked if I'd heard the news and I said yes but then came to find out another plane had hit the other tower and one had gone down. They were saying the planes were hijacked and that started me worrying about my brother in law. At the time he was flying airliners in and out of New York and other cities in the northeast. When I got home I called my sister and was relieved to hear that my brother in law had checked in and wasn't flying one of the planes that was hijacked.

I will never forget for two reasons. 1) Hanta Yo's idiot neice wrecked a pickup that morning and nearly put MCG through the window so we were back at the house and the radio was on so we heard what was going on and went and turned on the TV so we could see. And now 2) sw's man left yesterday 9-11 for Iraq. Got to talk to him as he was boarding the plane but no more cel phones cause that's what the bad guys use to set off their bombs.

FH..no need to worry over every Muslim. The majority of them are hard working people who live their lives ...just like most folks in this world.

Fools come in all colors, religions and nationalities...PLEASE remember that!

I had just gotten home ( 9-10) the day before from Idaho.
