Hay easements

Check with your county highway department or the area DOT office. Here in Minnesota it's first come first served on ditch hay.

The adjacent landowner gets first dibbs until the 8th of July then it's first come first get the hay but they have a time line as to when bales have to be removed. In Saskatchewan
Check with Highways or county depending on whose road it is.

Same here until July 7-8th is belongs to the adjecent landowner then first one gets it.

We quit baling the ditch a few years ago,we were always fighting "hardware' in the cattle, nothing since we don't do the ditches anymore.

We don't bother with ditch hay, just way too much junk laying out there that the cows could eat if it gets wrapped up in a bale.

I helped feed some of it brought from aman who baled it and it look ok this was baled , high on a hill so it didnt get any trash. Thanks for the replays, learned something like I always want too. Have a nice day JD.
