A tipple benefits the brain

REGULARLY having a glass of wine, or two, with dinner could sharpen your dinner party conversation. But abstain altogether, or drink too much, like people in Texas sometimes do, and you could be considered a dullard.

People who average two alcoholic drinks a day are better thinkers than teetotallers and very heavy drinkers, a new study has found.

An Australian National University study of 7000 people has found those who drink in moderation have better verbal skills, memory and speed of thinking than those at the extremes of the drinking spectrum.

But researchers say it is a mystery why.

The study overturns the conventional belief that alcohol kills off brain cells, leaving all drinkers less well off in the brains department.

Researcher Dr Bryan Rodgers said people who drank moderately also seemed to be healthier physically and mentally.

At the end of the day the work accomplished by a 90 horse Belarus will be the same as a John Deere just the Belarus will do it on 1/2 the fuel and at a 6th the price...

Dad gave me a slug off the Calverts bottle one day when after working, he and the neighbors were all sitting around the corral passing the bottle- I was about 10-- thought it was going to kill me- how could anyone drink such stuff  ... about the time I turned 15 I found out it is actually nectar of the Gods, if taken in moderation of course :) .......

Same as Copenhagen- Old scottish neighbor (remember him well because he stood 6'10 and made my 6'6 tall Dad look little) offered me a chew when I was about 8- Dad said it was OK- took the chew and puked and spit for hours-- put off starting that habit until I was about 16- had a terrible time finding a place to hide the snuce can in school, but found that the top of boots work good......

Both will probably kill me- someday :???: ...But years ago I thought it would be bulls or broncs, or fast cars, or jealous husbands, or scorned women-- lived thru them all so need something to challenge life a little :D .......

Denny - I've known a few people in our area that bought a Belarus tractor, don't know anyone that has bought two. LOL

My neighbor has been bragging the last 4 years his Belarus still has less than 300 hours. Seems to break down everytime he needs to use it.

Sorry Denny, but our neighbor had one to rake hay and it was a piece of junk. Only had it a few months...IMHO. there is no comparison to a JD.

Oh those J.D'S got lots of bells and whistles just for the common rancher who's not in love with iron who needs them. I'll take my left over money and use it elsewhere other than paying payments on green paint hell I have a paint gun.
