Holy cow was that a smoker today. Wind blew like crazy this afternoon and it was one of those hot winds that cut right through a fella. It has our ground dried out pretty bad. Temperature on the truck thermometer said +36C or pretty damn close to 100F. Spent the afternoon in the tractor spraying Round up. Sure owe the fella that invented the a/c some thanks!! :) :) :)

Hows the moisture in other areas?

had us a nice little rain shower this morning and back to being clear and blue by noon!!!Nice breeze kept us from cooking, but could use more moisture...our mountain snowpack is what it usually is around July...NOT MAY!! :? :?

We had that ungodly heat yesterday. Husband was doing the same as you, sitting in his airconditioned tractor spraying. Today was alot nicer, cool and cloudy this morning with the odd shower. But when the sun came out this afternoon, holy moly! The humidity made it feel alot hotter than it was.

I spent the day in the cab and the a/c was out.....one little window opened up about 3 inches...the doors kept blowing shut.

that a/c really makes us soft!

We are still waiting...patiently...

I can't believe you didn't get any...They said the Big Sheep Mountain area got over 3 and 1/2 inches....The north place of ours had .75 at about 6PM, but its still raining- over toward our east pasture the neighbors are saying over 2 inches.....

Not to rub it in but its 60 degrees, no wind, and still raining here :) Just good sleeping weather...

Where are the Big Sheep Mountains Oldtimer? Up by Glendive?

We have the Sheep Mountains over west of us in MT, and Sheep Mountain, is over east of here. Confused yet?

I think Big Sheep Mountain is straight west of Glendive and south of Circle...I think its in Prairie County....I know its the Big Sheeps you drive thru when going from Circle to Glendive.....

I fix a/c's so if they shut down I fix them and get tehm up and running again cant be with out that cool air.

Finally had a sprinkle overnight. Not a big one, but see some puddles standing. I feel we were cheated with the big chances we had for rain lately. We need a good rain soon to help make a haycrop. The tame hay is all headed out already. It has been a month since we had good moisture, and May is our wettest month.

Same here, Tap. I see some of the tame grass heading out.

We got little over half an inch last night. YIPPEEEE!!!

Maybe you got more than you think, because there was no water standing around here. I was suprised when I checked the rain gauge.
A nice suprise for once!!!

OT, thanks for hanging in there for us. You said it was coming!!!!

You are lucky to get the half inch, Faster Horses. Night before last, we got the bottom of the rain guage wet, which was about half of a tenth of an inch. Our fairly good "chance" for rain yesterday, just evaporated and blew away. It's blowing farther and farther away, because the wind this morning is about forty miles per hour out of the west.

My plan for the day was to brand our late calves, about 80, but am still debating. The only thing that makes me madder than a misbehavin' cow dog  is too much wind, and that is sure the case so far today.

I know everyone can always use rain, Soapweed, but are you guys dry?

We were really dry on top, so this is going to help a lot. I heard it come in about 11 pm last evening, but didn't realize it rained as much as it did.

We have a breeze this morning, but it isn't blowing hard.

We ended up with over 2 inches of rain in about a half hour on Wednesday afternoon. Came down like a bugger, glad to see. One mile to the north neighbor only got 3 tenths and neighbor 1 mile to south of us only got 1/2 inch. Very wierd but we will take it! :)
