We got 4" of very heavy wet snow last night. Lots of folks complainin', we're just lovin' it!!!! Seeding a bunch of grass down this year looks better and better with each passing storm. Supposed to get a little more over the next day or two, but real warm by the end of the week.

The weather report had a big cloud of rain/snow parked right over your head last night and then your episode of Mantracker came on and the grass was green and gorgeous. Great how things work out, I enjoyed the tour of your ranch. :-)

We got a beautiful half inch of rain last night. :D :D

It looks like the area could get plenty more...We have a 90% chance for flat out rain tonight and tomorrow.... :D I was going to haul a couple of open cows to the salesring tomorrow--but that might just have to wait a week- as there is enough water standing in the yard now that I don't think I could even get backed in to hook up a trailer...

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE GLASGOW MT
411 AM MDT TUE APR 28 2009

.SHORT TERM...FOR NORTHEAST MONTANA...TODAY THROUGH THURSDAY...
UPPER LOW DROPPING INTO THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST WITH EJECTING
VORTICITY LOBE MOVING INTO SOUTHERN IDAHO. THIS SHORTWAVE WILL
PUSH THROUGH THE NORTHERN ROCKIES TODAY WITH A SECOND WAVE
CROSSING SOUTHERN MONTANA ON WEDNESDAY. NORTHERN ROCKIES SHORTWAVE
WILL DRAW WARM AIR NORTHWARD TODAY...INCREASING THE GRADIENT
ACROSS THE HIGH PLAINS...AND DEVELOPING STRONG LOW LEVEL JET.
SURFACE LOW IS PUSHED OUT OF THE GREAT BASIN BY SECOND SHORTWAVE
TONIGHT AND INTO THE CENTRAL PLAINS ON WEDNESDAY. COLDER AIR IS
DRAWN SOUTHWARD BEHIND THE SYSTEM WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND THURSDAY.

SIGNIFICANT PRECIPITATION AMOUNTS EXPECTED ACROSS THE REGION WITH
THIS STORM SYSTEM AS LOW LEVEL JET PULLS MOISTURE NORTHWARD FROM
THE GULF OF MEXICO AND UPPER LEVEL FLOW TAPS PACIFIC MOISTURE
STREAM. MAIN FORECAST ISSUE CONTINUES TO BE HOW MUCH OF THE
PRECIPITATION WILL FALL AS SNOW. EASTERLY LOW LEVEL FLOW EXPECTED
TO PUMP WARM AIR INTO EASTERN MONTANA ALONG WITH THE MOISTURE...
KEEPING BOUNDARY LAYER TEMPERATURES ABOVE FREEZING AND THE SNOW
PRODUCTION ZONES VERY HIGH. WESTERN AND NORTHERN BOUNDARY ZONES
WILL HAVE THE BEST CHANCE FOR SNOW...AND THIS WILL LIKELY NOT
BEGIN UNTIL LATE TONIGHT AS THE INVERTED TROF OVER CENTRAL MONTANA
BEGINS MOVING EAST. PRECIPITATION WILL CHANGE OVER THE SNOW ACROSS
THE REMAINDER OF THE CWA LATE WEDNESDAY AS THE TROF CONTINUES EAST
AND WINDS TURN TO THE NORTHWEST...PULLING COLDER AIR INTO THE
REGION. HOWEVER BY THE TIME THIS OCCURS SYSTEM WILL BE FURTHER
EAST ALONG WITH THE HEAVIEST PRECIPITATION.

CURRENTLY HAVE NORTHERN ZONES IN A WINTER STORM WATCH WITH 6 TO 8
INCHES OF SNOW POSSIBLE
FROM SCOBEY TO WHITEWATER. OTHER AREA
WHERE HEAVY SNOW IS POSSIBLE IS THE LITTLE ROCKIES WHERE GOOD
UPSLOPE WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE LIFT.

PRECIPITATION AND WINDS WILL DIMINISH FROM THE NORTHWEST ON
THURSDAY AS HIGH PRESSURE NUDGES OUT OF CANADA. EBERT

We picked up about another 1/2 inch of rain last night...40 miles north along the border has been getting snow...Raining here now- winds howling 35-40 mph- 39 degrees....

Sounds like the western part of the state- Great Falls/I Luv Herefords area- is getting an outright snowstorm with many closed roads and cancelled school for today...

School bus driver called at 7am. He was in the ditch, so no school for my kids today. Got about a foot of heavy wet snow on the ground. It snowed and rained yesterday. Snowing right now.
A few branches were broken on my caraganisis (sp?) in the back yard.
