I saw that. that fire has got to be a good 50 miles or so from here. yesterday there was one straight east of us and one down kind of north west of great falls. could be a nasty fire season late this year if it don't rain sometime. it is the definition of dry around here. we have had 1.3 inches of rain this year so far.

Is the wind blowing up there? It's howling down here pretty good.

I forgot to ask when are you bringing in your bred heifers? I would like to be able to get a closer look at them and see if I can find the 2 I really liked today. Pretty sure just about any one of them would be a great addition to our son's herd.

They would be hereford hiefiers and some cows(a few). I'm going to A.I. and sell some packaged deals.. Some bred back to hereford and some bred to angus... Pictures and epds please... I'm not up on my hereford epds so I need lots of help.....

I couldn't tell - the wind was blowing so hard you could hardly make it out. it had to be a stubble fire.


Is the wind blowing up there? It's howling down here pretty good.

They'll come home first of October. You might have to come back up and look then... I'll have 35N (Bear Mark) here too - you could see Bear's sire in person.

If your from north of soapweed then I am assuming you live in what used to be Hereford country - there are all kinds of old Hereford guys down there to ask. Didn't they used to call a stretch of highway through the sandhills around I think valentine "Hereford Alley".

Anyhow - you are looking for a AI bull to breed hereford heifers to that you are going to sell as breds? Did you raise the heifers you are going to breed? I'd be curious to know what you have and what you are going to do with them. You say you aren't up on your "hereford epd's".... I guess epd's are the last tool I would use to make your selection especially when you look at what hereford semen there is available or promoted these days. Describe what you have and your plans and I'd throw in my 2 cents worth.

Will probably be the second weekend in October. I have an EMS conference on the 2nd thru the 4th. We are shipping our calves on the 5th and I would like to go to the sale on the 6th.

Can hardly wait to see "Bear's" sire. Maybe Katrina would like him.

I have my eye on some awesome hereford hiefiers calves that will be coming up for sale... These are reputation cattle that we have bought bulls from...Now I know that the hereford AI selection is not to hot, but I want to keep them all horned herefords... Sorry Rodger . I want a short AI period(groups) Some of the ify ones I will breed angus cuz I know what I want there.... Just give me your two cents worth...
