Montana Stockgrowers to host NCBA, R-CALF panel at mid-year conference
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

May 2, 2005

(HELENA)—What's your vision for the future of the cattle industry? That question will be addressed by two of the cattle industry's foremost leaders at the Montana Stockgrowers Association (MSGA) mid-year convention in Helena, Thursday, June 9.

A golden opportunity awaits convention attendees when Leo McDonnell, president of Ranchers Cattlemen Action Legal Fund United Stockgrowers of America (R-CALF USA) and Jim McAdams, president of the National Cattlemen's Beef Association (NCBA) each explain their organizations' vision for the future of our industry.

"With all the press release rhetoric flying around, sometimes the vision of an organization gets lost in the shuffle," said Bill Donald, a rancher from Melville and president of MSGA. "Anyone who has an interest in the cattle industry owes it to themselves to be in the audience to hear the facts from these leaders and ask them the questions that are on your minds."

McDonnell and McAdams will each speak for 10 to 15 minutes on their visions for the future of the cattle industry. The panel will then be opened up to questions from the audience, with Donald serving as moderator.

"No one can doubt the commitment each of these gentlemen bring to our industry," said Donald. "That dedication is exemplified by their willingness to meet on the same stage and openly discuss the pressing issues of our times."

The panel discussion will take place at the opening forum of the MSGA mid-year convention. Other activities of the conference include committee meetings and policy discussion on Thursday afternoon; the choice of participating in a ranch tour through the Avon and Helmville area or competing in the Cow Pasture Golf Scramble on Friday; and the "Branding Your Future" banquet Friday night.

For more information, or to register for the mid-year convention, call the MSGA office at (406) 442-3420, or download the registration form online at www.mtbeef.org.
