Hesston 1380DT

I had a 1180DT. it had to be split to put on a new ring and pinion because the pinion nut was never staked at the factory and it backed off. No warranty.

I think it also had to be split to reconnect the spring that pulls it out of Crawler gears. :?

Traded it on a 7400 JD and it went to the elevator in Westby MT. They used the heck out of it until somebody was carrying two round bales and hit a wash out and broke the tractor in two. :o

Hesston tractors were fairly common around here-for awhile. There is a filter in the back part of the tractor that requires splitting of the tractor when it's time to change. If I remember correctly, this was a little detail that wasn't mentioned although it became very important and ruined a number of the tractors. I don't remember if it was an engine filter or transmission filter. Seems like it was transmission. I would think finding parts could be an issue.
