I was in Hood River Wed & saw the smoke. It is in steep, nasty ground with lots of trophy houses. It is amazing no one has been injured & no structures have been burned.
I have heard a chain off a logging truck started one fire & another started at an intersection. Looked like someone might have flicked ashes or a cigarette out the window. This is just pool hall talk.
Recon today says only 1200 acres 10% controlled. Fixed wing tankers are being used.
