Hey H

Probably never unless one stands in the road long enough for me to hit it with my truck. :D Utah has goats but they are a once-in-a-lifetime tag. And they make you choose one animal to put in for on once in a lifetime tags. I have been putting in for desert bighorn sheep for 15 years so i cant put in for goats. Although, if you'll spot me the cash, i could book an Alaskan hunt and ventilate one.

As much as i despise goats of all kinds, i really have no inclination to shoot one. But thanks for the picture anyway! :D

Would it change your outlook if I told you Mountain Goats aren't actually goats? Turns out they are actually a member of the antelope family, so you can shoot away without fear of reprisal for any real or perceived goat affinity you may or may not have! :D

Oh, there would be reprisal. If i have anything to do with goats, antelope or a freaking unicorn, i'd catch hell somehow!    Perception is reality, right?

You missed Cope's greatest claim to fame - that part about turning wild cows into mewling babies . . .

One of Chris LeDoux's all time best songs.

I will always remember the Chris LeDoux concerts i went to back before he became a household name. Little dives full of tobacco smoke, buckaroos and adult beverages. When he'd play "Copenhagen" with the help of his awesome band "Saddle Boogie" the dang stage would be covered with cope cans. They'd all be ducking as incoming rounds hit the stage. :D Later as he played bigger venues like Symphony hall in SLC they actually had a net they'd raise before embarking down the copenhagen road! Good ol' Chris was as good as they come. I used to have a signed dollar bill from him but it was misplaced or possibly spent a few years down the trail. The night he signed it he spent almost half an hour visiting with me a couple buddies after a concert at an amusement park called Lagoon just north of SLC. Just a regular guy who happened to of won a world bareback championship and wrote and preformed a whole bunch of great songs. GOD BLESS CHRIS LEDOUX!!!!!!!!

I got to know him pretty well when I lived in Wyoming. We would drive to Kaycee and visit him. He and his wife were always friendly. I use to chuckle when we'd pull up he'd be mowing the lawn or weed whacking. Like others have said just a regular guy with a lot of talent. My favorite song he sang was Ten Seconds in the Saddle. It's on the Western Tunesmith album. One of the earlier ones.

Just guessing, but Jinglebob is probably busy with his ranch and poetry and singing.

We saw him in a great performance at Hot Springs last fall. Like his poetry, but he does a darn good job with a song, too.

There were about half a dozen performers, several from SD, and all were well worth listening too.

I've still got a bunch of his old 8 tracks from the late 70's and early 80's. Gcreek and I travelled a few miles listening to them. When Chris wasn't singing Dave had one of his Gene Tracy tapes going.
Country Western music doesn't have to many artist that earned the right to wear the hat and boots like Chris LeDoux. That's my 2 cents.

We can remember when Chris was pretty young and so were we. He'd sit in the back of the one of the bars in Buffalo, Wy and play his guitar without fanfare. He went to Nashville several times to get a record contract and nothing came of it. He wasn't an overnight wonder, as he worked hard for years to get where he got. It was Garth Brooks singing about "listening to a worn out tape of Chris LeDoux" that got his talent recognized.

His house in Kaycee was like a lodge and the bathroom was indoors, but it was still a '2 holer'. :P It did flush tho. :D

My favorite Chris LeDoux song is "ReRide."
