My understanding is that Ankony just got the cattle and Bill still has the land. NO offence at all to Ankony when I write what I am about to but it is a sad day to see Bill Rishel sell. In our business endeavors with the man he stood by what he said and was very pleasant to do business with.

Ted seems to have the bison herd and with aquisitions lately by Ankony involving not only the Rishels but Holidays they seem to be making a move at aquiring some of the respectable herds in the U.S. The key now is keeping up the herds.

Congradulations to Ankony for buying this fine set of cattle.

Mr. Rishel was wanting to sell, that's all I'll say as I'll not get into a pizzin' match about buyer and sellers again.

If anything wasn't for sale....nothing could be bought!

CA...Ankony has an excellent reputation for standing by what we do also, it's not a accusation...it's a fact.....maybe you should do a wee bit of research as we're not ' new' to the cattle biz by any measure!!!!

OT....this isn't really news...it's just OFFICIAL news now!!!

We've already got some of the cattle here and man they are a hairy as bears coming from that cold N Platte country. I bet they think they've landed in the Bahamas or something with our 50 & 60 temps right now!!
The ones that went to Oregon I bet are pizzed cause I think they've got 1' foot of snow out there with more on the way!!!

Business is business....I'll say no more except if any of ya'll want some beeeeatuiful bovines you know where to shop!!!

Kola-
Doesn't Ankony still have the palce in NE? Just wondering why they were sending cattle to GA & OR instead of just moving them to a ranch in the same climate type.

The ScottsBluff place was sold back in the 90's   and everything moved here.

Then Oregon was bought just a while back.

Some of the cattle will prob stay at the Rishel place for a bit and I'm sure bulls will be there for sale. I stay out of those itty bitty details, I learned that loooong ago!!!

This way we've kinda got a 3 point sale radius....West coast, mid- America and East coast.

Method to the Madness!!!!

Of course the Method and Madness changes pretty fast sometimes also!!!

No...North Platte

.......faster than I can keep up with.................

See what I mean!!!!

The Rishel place is located in North Platte NE.... I haven't met them, but from what I hear they are gonna be GREAT folks to work with as time goes by.

Typed one word ment another and it took me reading it in the morning to see this. Duh moment! It was a mistake and I will now be more careful about double reading posts or at least tell you all I'm going to be. :)

Accusations is more like the view (not at all saying it's mine) that Holidays wasn't a cattle deal but a deal to make a ton of money in real estate. Nobody will know how that plays out until a few years from now.

See barely but I do get the difference in the word meanings!

Once again Congradulations in purchasing such a fine group of cattle.

...this is what's confusin me.........but we all know I ain't the sharpest pencil in the drawer...............

note: I posted this before I saw Cattlearmy's response

No ruffles here....just stating facts on my part is all.

I never know how much or how little people know about Ankony, so I just advise people to read for themselves.

Besides it's a GREAT day in GA....it's RAINING BABY!! I mean pouring!!!

I can't say I know a ton about Ankony myself. I do know the some of the management and have been involved in business deals with both the Holidays and the Rishels. Both were impressive producers and great business people to deal with.

However, with all they buying going on I'm going next door to make sure where we stand today! :) Just kidding congradulations!

.......there'll be a lull for a bit, but then yall will get another shot later today..................   :tiphat:

Just teasing there Kola :P   --But as far as I run behind it was news to me....
And you are right- those are 2 reputation places...I know one of my angus seedstock neighbors south of the Missouri has bought several of his herd bulls over the years from Rishels- and he spoke very highly of them....
One thing Kola- if you end up on any sales/promotion trips to his place--you'll be right in the middle of dinosaur country....

The trip I was thinking of was to the breeder on Fort Peck Lake, near Jordan Montana--smack dab in the middle of dinosaur and cowboy country...Big Dry Angus has put a lot of Rishel blood in their herds the last few years.....

Some of my buddies have worked at Ft Peck....on that big T Rex they found up there.

Them dino's are all over youir country out there. I've found several nice ' chunk-o-saur' pieces in road ditches---OMG!!! I guess I'm a road hunter then huh???    --- and in cut banks of roads.

Just gotta keep looking down!!!
