Nope- someday you may learn that in the real world nothing or nobody is perfect.... Even with all the rules and regs we have in this country- no-one can guarantee everything will be safe- all the time...
BUT- that said- I damn sure would rather take my chances with what is raised by the US producers and a country like the U.S. that does have all the rules and regs and testing and oversight on the slaughter/sale than a country like Mexico or Honduras- or now Brazil which I heard is revving up to start feedlot fattening and exporting finished beef...

Give people the opportunity to make an honest informed choice of which country they prefer their meat to be raised and slaughtered in...

I notice that Oldtimer is pretty quiet about yesterday's hearing on m-cool. Seems that some of the judges stated it was a protectionist move. Wonder how that will stand up to the WTO if COOL isn't thrown out first.

The COOL argument has a brand new twist. 1st Amendment - "Freedom of Speech".

Seems opponents are saying that nothing on the label lends itself towards "Food Safety". And it doesn't. The U.S. has many, many more violations of Food Safety Rules than does Canada and Mexico combined.

If the label isn't for Food Safety or Dietary Info, the attorneys argued that the only reason it's there is to be protectionist.
