Happy belated bday you miserable old coyote. Hope you had a good day yesterday.

Thanks Silver-- It wasn't too bad a day...Started out bad as I found a cow that went out into the middle of an area of two foot deep snow to calve 11 days early- and had a dead calf by the time I found her...And I got the pickup stuck getting over to her BUT the sun did come out- temp got to 32 and I was able to get the snow cleared in the lots- and now lotted the cows until some of this snow gets gone-- because there is no bare ground anywhere else.... This morning is pea soup fog again-- tired to get some pics- but the grandkids had ran the batteries dead again on the camera....Will see after I get it charged if I can download any...

It's been in the 40's here for two weeks and we still have 2 feet of snow. Been doing a fair bit of snow plowing to get ready for calving here as well. Where it's plowed it seems to be drying up nicely, hopefully the cows choose to calve there.
I guess I must be getting old too, the wife got me a recliner for my b-day today, and the MIL got me a pipe
So tonight I may have a little Crown and smoke my pipe and try out this being 40 business and see how it fits

Heres a few pics I snapped this morning while feeding- of our continual fog... Because of the thick snow pack we still have we lotted all the cows for now..

Looking out to the south past the bales I sat out yesterday...

Happy birthday to both of you old boys. Sparky's bride had a birthday on March 5th, also.

Silver, 40 didn't bother me much but 50 really clomped me over the head. Now I'm crowding 60, in a couple years. Each new day is a gift, so we just as well enjoy them one by one.

We've also had a lot of foggy grey days lately. Today at noon it is 32 degrees with five inches of new snow on the ground. Yesterday got up to around 40, but the day before hit 65. Spring will be here before we know it. :-)

Happy Birthday Silver- I had forgot there were several early March birthdays...Mrs. Greg's was a couple days ago... Well I got a couple of decades on you- and those easy chairs feel nicer as the years go by....And that Crown doesn't sound bad either..

Happy Birthday you two.

Here's a present to make you feel better OT, sunny and 58 F here today.

Our "stockpiled irrigation" is down to about 20 inches now.

I would sure love to see some blue sky like that here...This part of the Big Sky Country hasn't had that big of a sky since about Christmas...I've never seen such a foggy winter.... Sun never did come out today..Temp got up to 27...Visibility finally got up to about 1/4 mile this afternoon-but is socking back in now again- and less than 100 yards... I sure hope none of those cows calve tonight- as the air is so wet that as you walk around your glasses and face get wet.. The wife and daughters are in Billings- and they called and said there is no snow south of the Missouri (Malta)- and the temp in Billings was 55 degrees again... :?

Fog never lifted at all yesterday...Most the time visibility was less than 100 yards...During the night it was so thick you couldn't see thru it with the spotlights on the calf checks....I used the 4 wheeler and hand spotlight- so I wouldn't run over anything....

Today its pea soup again today- with 96% humidity- 18 mph wind- 30 degree temp-- and the weather guessers are saying it may not lift for a day or two... :(

We have a change here today, it started snowing sideways. Thankfully our calves are still nice and warm in the hatchery yet. The weather is predicting a few colder days for this week.
