Did you happen to see a good lookin' black hat blow by sometime today? The ol' wind has really been howlin' out of the southeast today! If you find anything from this country that blew in today, just throw it in the air tomorrow and it'll come right on back.

What a damn country we live in. Been in the 70's for what seems like a long time, now the wind has switched to the NW, is gusting to 61, and we had about 1/4 in. of rain. Now it's supposed to turn to snow, still blow sixty, and accumulate snow.

Man, I sure wish we calved when Soapweed does, and the calves would be big enough to take this. Instead of being born in this crap.

I threw the hat you asked about in the air Jinglebob, but I think I misjudged the wind speed. It will probably land in Sioux City.

Long old day trying to get prepared for this storm. (as I yawn).

Hung tuff my friend, you'll make it. After all, you have so far.

I sorted off a couple who were starting to bag up a little, on the slight cahnce they will calve. I'll be surprised if there are any out there in the morning tho'.

Next year, the 15th of May might be my starting date. I've never seen any blizzards after that, anyway, tho Dad remembered when it snowed on the 4th of July. If we don't get some snow or rain, there won't be any around to calve next year.

Got in two loads of steers this evening. I warned the feller that sent them that they may stand in the corral and get thinner and muddy, but he wasn't too worried. He's never seen a spring blizzard in SD.

Oh well, they've gots lots of flesh, so I imagine they can take it.

The temperature is starting to drop here and we can hear a little rain on the roof. The wind is blowing a gale, as usual, but I think maybe the worst of the storm has gone north of us. We didn't get any hail, at least not yet, and we'll take any moisture in any form that we can get. So far, we've gotten 20 hundredths in April and only 25 hundredths for all of March. The last four days have been just like summer.

Come on rain....

Does it help, if you say that while on your knees?

Yup. I'll take snow or rain or hell, even some hail as we always seem to get a lot of rain with it. Wouldn't hurt too much right now.

Heck, I'd even take a big flock of bird flying over, if they will drop some moisture.

90 degrees here today at 6:00. No breeze either. You could feel fresher air if someone put you in a fruit jar than you could feel outside today. It's pretty early in the year for this kind of weather.

The weather here has been just crazy this last week we had temps in the hi 80's lower 90's, and now this week highs only in the 60's, and slight chances of rain.
Heck, lets pray for a 3 day soaker and during that time hit the local tavern and drink lots of beer!!!

Today was partly sunny around 12 degrees with the odd sprinkle. Same for tomorow then rain until friday then we should have some sun shine  . Can't wait for that its way towet up here. maybe we could make a deal I'll mail some rain to you folks that need it if you could send some warmer weather and sun

I was moving livestock to the breaks when I saw this object flying by, luckily I had my camera with me and was able to get a quick picture. I live a good 85 miles east of Jingle Bob so it darn sure looks like it should have made Sioux City pretty easily.

  So far no rain just wind and lots of it here![/img]

We got some pea size hail last night, just enough to turn the ground white for a litle while. Got a whole lot of l;ightning and lost power in the whole town of Black Hawk for a couple of hours.
Great pics!
