I too have AI'ed lots of cattle through lots of different types of chutes. And Honestly, I prefer breeding cattle in an AI Barn, I use one that can hold two at a time. I also carcass ultrasound thousands of cattle in different chutes. But as far as chutes go, I do like working the most is a Silencer both AI and Ultrasound. Pearsons are real good too, if the operator know how to work one (but that goes with all chutes). I actually bought a self catch Hi Hog a few years ago, and it is anything but light, and not even close to being noisy. The materials it is made of prevents alot of the clanging and banging, and I especially like the way it squeezes cattle, and all the different ways you can get access to the animals. I just got another HIHOG Hydraulic, made portable to haul around to all the places I have cattle and to use something better than those darned old powder rivers (cow chokers) at places I go to work.
My vet especially likes the HI HoG b/c of the head room (when doing ET work), and quietness.
I have never been around a stampede or Morand, I have been around another red one that is worked with ropes, It works good to but I prefer others better. But I would say that working Powder Rivers is the absolute worst chute to work cattle.
