Hey, everyone!
Just a short note to let you know that Hubby was released from UNMH Wednesday about 4:00. There was a little concern that he was leaking cerebral spinal fluid from his nose, but everyone in power finally decided that it was just mucous, and requested that he not go on home on Thursday if it was worse, and to go to the clinic instead. Thursday morning, everything was about the same, so we headed out about 6:30, got home just before noon. Hubby made the trip fine, we stopped in Socorro and had a good breakfast at Denny's, got some gas and headed this way. When we got here, Al was fine, we caught him napping. Hubby was a little tired when we got here, so rested for part of the afternoon, then he and Al went on "cow patrol" up to the other end of town. Today, he said his head hurts, but not enough that he'll take any of the pain meds the doc perscribed.
Now, for the prognosis thus far. The tumor is rock hard, and has grown around numerous nerves, blood vessels and arteries. For those reasons, Dr. Yonas has decided it would be more dangerous to try removal of the mass, than to treat it non-invasively. They are planning to try radiation on it, to slow the growth, but we'll find out for sure next Thursday, when he's got another appointment at the clinic at UNMH. Dr. Yonas stated that by then, he should have the reports back on the biopsy, have consulted with some other experts, and will have a plan.
Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers for us through all this. You have no idea how much they are appreciated! (((((((((((((( hugs ))))))))))))))
