We have been keeping our eyes open all spring for a horse for Mrs. H. She decided it was time and I am happy she is ready for another pony. While the next horse will never compare to the last one, and it shouldnt, life is a pretty glum trip without doing it a horseback. :D This will simply be the next chapter in a wonderful book entitled "Horses are sent from God to make life worth it"! I was visiting with a guy at work about horses and he mentioned he had a couple he needed to sell as he'd bought a new head horse without telling his wife and she said sell a couple or NO GO! Trouble making females! :D So since I got rained out from a fence fixing project today, we took a saddle and headed north to see what he had. He had a 3 year old filly and a 4 year old gelding. She liked the filly right off so we put on a saddle and took a test ride. Heading into the arena.

Checking the cinch. This little mare is plain broke. Dog gentle and quiet. Just a sweetheart. :D

I stayed out of the trading as I told her what I thought but it was her decision. Littlest H took a lap and seemed to approve from the grin.

Two youngsters. That grin says it all eh?

Then she tried the gelding. He is gonna be a great event horse as he's athletic as heck. He carries more muscle too.

And while he is a pretty horse too, the filly was THE HORSE!!!!! :D I should buy the gelding as he only wants $1500 for him. But I gotta write a $1000 check tomorrow for the sorrel filly who will be coming home in our trailer. Mrs. H will have to give ya her story later cause right now she is walking on air!!! More pictures and pedigree to follow tomorrow!

That looks to be a good match Mrs. H.

Now don't be lettin' that wore out ol' bull rider/idiot cube packer/electrician get on that mare and ruin her for you.

Looks like a horse that should make a welcome addition to the family for many years to come. Congrats Mrs. H!

I like the looks of that gelding as well...Little H must have a b-day or something coming up?!

thats what i was thinkin. hell if your gonna spend 1000 dollars, you might as well drop the extra 1500 for that gelding. he'll be good and broke by the time lil h can ride on his own. :P

The mare reminds me of several I raised/used years ago- that were leggy and thinner built as colts- but that muscled up enough to be great working horses for anything you wanted to do in a year or two...

If she's sold on the filly- I'd go with her- as her eyes and ears tell me she's a sweetheart in the making......

Mare looks good- Mrs. H looks good- kids look good----so what more do you want :???:

What is that black wind break fence made of?

Conveyor belting from the mining industry. Lots of it around this country.

She bought the filly and we hauled her home today. Her name is "Lena" out of a stud called King Lena. Mrs. H will have to put on some more pictures and tell ya'll her story. The gelding may end up under my saddle in a week or two. :D

He's a 4 year old that goes back to Booger Red on the top. Real athletic and a goer. I like the heck out of him, but this trip was for my wife. Maybe later I'll be going back if he is still for sale.
