No they are not stolen, but at +100F they want to just stand in the creek most of the day and eat after dusk.

These girls sure have it rough - - - if they are in a far corner of the pasture they might have to walk 100 yards to find the creek! They would sure suffer culture shock if I sent them to some of your outfits!

Hay might be in tight supply as we have had rain at least 5 days a week sense the middle of May - - - If we do not get a lot of snow they can eat stockpiled grass - - - forecast is no rain till Friday!

I really don't know but it is rampant along the creeks and in the swamp - - - as long as I mow it at lease once a year the cattle love it but they will not eat it if the old growth is there. I have found the easiest way to mow the swamp is when it is about 0F or a little below, turn on the heat and the skid steer works great on the frozen swamp and the following spring the cattle will try to live there and the grass grows like there is no tomorrow!

I guess I should have pointed out it was not just the cows that were hot - - - dogs, grand-kids and grandma all took to the water.

Let's see how deep it is!

Three kids and a 15 year old dog - - - lets get cool!

Fun at the "Dog beach"

Looks like fun for all! My mil promised her sons when they were small that if they stayed away from the creek, she would take them swimming in it every day that it was running in summer. One summer, maybe about 1942, she took them every day! Usually it runs just a few days before it dries down to water holes inhabited by undesireable water creatures, some of which attach to skin and suck blood, so she didn't have trouble keeping them out of the water then!
