I talked to him behind the chutes and bought 8 track tapes directly from him that he was selling out of the truck of his car. I believe (not certain) that I played pitch with him behind the chutes. I know he was there and I think he was involved in a hand or two. That was all long before he was preforming on stage. Probably 1974 based on the rodeos and time of the year and me being healthy (generally by late August early September I was on the injured reserve list).

I'm old enough I've never heard any of his songs. Radio doesn't work in most of my rigs and I don't turn the ones on that do work.

I was at the national FFA convention in 1984.85 and 86. When kids from states back east would ask my favorite musicians and singers, hardly any of them knew who Chris LeDoux was. So you're in good company Redrobin.

Back in the mid-1970's, most of my friends wore western hats and boots and listened to Cris LeDoux cassettes. Don's Store in Lewistown was a western wear and sporting goods store. They had a display counter right inside the entrance filled with Cris Ledoux music. Last yeat, our county fair featured his son Ned. The crowd was mostly older folks that went wild whenever he sang one of hed dad's older songs!

Chris is a Wyoming ICON. They have LeDoux Days every year in Kaycee, Wy where he lived.
He was a bronc rider turned musician. I don't know anyone who didn't like him. He was genuine and died way too soon.
