This is a copy of an email I sent our family & friends that I had email addresses for, thought I'd share with you guys, what's going on, and how it's going for us.

Dale went through like a trooper this morning! He said that the radiologist and a whole bunch of other folks, were there for the big event. He was the first (we are thinking) to use the new state-of-the-art machine.........it took a CT scan first thing, then, they put him back in and it did the treatment, according to what the findings of the CT scan were. He was gone from me for the whole sum of about 40 minutes......came out and said that he felt like a guinea pig! lol
From here on out, he'll be scheduled at 11:00 am, for his scan/treatment, unless they get super-fast at performing the proceedure, and then they may move his appointment time up again.
He said that while they were doing the radiation, he could smell "burning horn" scent, so maybe (just keeping our fingers crossed) it's reducing the tumor, since it's bone, and horn is bone............I know that Heavenly Father is holding his hand through all this, and will get us through it fine. Dale is in good spirits, now that everything is started, he's been a regular "pill" today, but it's good to see him back to his old self again.
The computers they had here at the Casa Esperanza, are no longer available, they do have one that folks can use, when it's not being used for other things (like stuff they need to do) but one of the gals here in the office, let me use one of the office ones, just to let everyone know things are going well. She's another of our "angels", just like you all are!
Kit should be in Luna tomorrow, and then Dale plans on having him come up here once or twice, when he's not too busy playing cowboy.
I actually "drove" in Albuquerque today! No wrecks, or anything! One car did honk a lot, but Dale said it's just that they were bein friendly, or that I'm so good lookin that they honked. lol I'll be doing a little driving around, we need to go get some more groceries tomorrow, someplace a little less expensive than WalGreen's (where I finally got us to today lol), but didn't want to get "too lost"............lol I think I can get us out of town come Friday, if need be, but I'm stayin away from that darned freeway in town. Those folks are NUTS!!! lol I seem to do ok on the side streets, haven't driven on any major ones, though, other than Lomas, and did ok there, too.
Thank you all so much for your prayers and support through all this, I know that everything is going to be fine, and we're gonna be in better shape when it's over, than we were when we got started!
Love y'all!
Debbie

If you have nothing you'd die for, then you have nothing to live for.

Our prayers are with you still, and will be throughout the process. I'm so glad to hear things went well. I did git a lil chuckle out of the 'burnin horn" comment. Leave it to a rancher to make a comparison like that LOL

Do you have friends in Albuquerque that you can call in an emergency? If not, let me know and I will get you a couple of numbers you can call.

Glad to hear things are progressing, Ranchy. By the time the treatments are finished you'll know your way around town and be totally at ease barreling down the main highways like all the other nuts.

We're praying for you both.

Thank you all for your kind words of encouragement.

I wasn't able to get on a computer at all, last week, but things didn't go as well as they did the first day. The doc did tell us that Dale was the first to use the new machine (ever.......it's the only one there is) and that it seems to be doing the job well. Dale was pretty nauseaus (or however ya spell it) starting Wednesday after treatment, then it got progressively worse as the week went on. There is some medicine they can give him for that, but he won't see the doc again until this Wed. I had a heck of a time chasing down the nurse, even, to get her to write a note for work for me.......those folks are busy, busy, busy.

Kit has gone with Dale this week, I have a lot of 4-H stuff to tend, and there's no one else that can do it, and Kit was ready for a break from playing cowboy, so it's all working out well.

The Casa is a very nice place, but noisy........doors slamming all night long, people talking till the wee hours, etc. And then, it's town, too, and none of us are used to that, though Kit admitted that you can learn to sleep through anything. He mentioned that Jail was a lot worse than Prison (back to the Diamond Bar story :( ) about all the noise.

We went to the State Fair on Monday after Dale got out of treatment, it was nice, got to watch some of the pig show (our nephew got the gate first thing, but that's how it goes. He'd gotten 7th place in the NM Bred Show the day before.), then we went over and watched some of the Paint Horse Show, on to the 4-H exhibit building (Al's Vet Science entry got a 3rd place, nothing else he sent got a ribbon, they only give through 3rd) and we were going to try to get back for the steer show on Wed, and the rodeo on Thurs. as one of our friend's kids was going to be in the Heifer Scramble there. But, with Dale not feeling well, we put the kiedas on that idea.

I got to drive us around Albuquerque a little more last week, we went to Smith's to get a few groceries, and then found a Wal Mart and went there twice. No more nice, friendly folks though, so I guess I did ok.....

Smells like rain here this morning, but still too dark to see if it's raining, or just smelling.......

Will be here off and on all this week, hopefully can give a better update than I just did.....

Thanks again for everything you guys have done for us! It's truely appreciated!
