Husker Fans Miss The Big 12

This should do it:

Dear Husker Family,

Good morning.

I want to express my sincere appreciation to every Husker fan who has come to Memorial Stadium this season to cheer on the Big Red; who has traveled hundreds or thousands of miles to proudly wear the red and white in visiting stadiums; and who has passionately supported our student-athletes, our head coach, our assistant coaches and staff. Your support and patience as Mike Riley rebuilds our storied program one brick at a time mean the world to our young men, our staff and our university.

While many are understandably disappointed in the current record of the football team and the heartbreakingly close losses we have suffered, I am confident the future is bright because I see it in the eyes of our players, coaches and staff and I am impressed by what I know is going on behind the scenes. Our coaches are developing our student-athletes and, though the consistent victories are not there yet, I am confident they will come. I have witnessed how our young men battle every day in practice and fight to the finish on game days in the face of great adversity. Football can be a humbling game of inches and seconds and our players have laid everything on the line while making no excuses. The prospective student-athletes looking to make Nebraska home possess athletic talent, academic potential, and high character making for a bright future. Coach Riley has a vision and a plan and is committed to providing the Husker faithful with a sustained winner which will compete annually for championships.

As I have said many times, it is an honor and privilege to represent Nebraska, and I am humbled and care deeply about the men and women I have a chance to work with every day here. The incredible amount of hours they put in and the sacrifices they all make to represent Nebraska are truly remarkable. In two decades as a student-athlete and athletics administrator, I have had the opportunity to learn and work alongside some incredible people at five different institutions. What the best administrators and coaches have in common is a consistent commitment to teaching young minds to do things the right way and to instill a values system that emphasizes hard work, discipline, loyalty, teamwork, compassion and excellence. Those principles coupled with a positive attitude generally result in championships.

Your continued support is what makes Nebraska special and together, we will do great things. Thank you again for your incredible passion and support. We look forward to another home sellout and an electric environment on Saturday as we come together to cheer on our team against Michigan State.

Have a great week and Go Big Red!

Not surprised that you've no idea yourself how to right the ship.

Daughter #2 called tonight and said she got it pretty straight from the horse's mouth that at least one of Bo's former assistant coaches is frequently texting or contacting current starters sowing the seeds of hatred and discontent for Coach Riley. This may or may not be at Bo's direction.

I've said for several weeks that there is a cancer in the roster of players. Jesus Christ himself would have a hard time overcoming odds like that. The only way we'll ever know what Riley is capable of is when every player ever tainted by the Pelini regime is gone.

something is going on that is not right. IF bozo's old crew is found to be tampering, then there needs to be severe penalties. as for righting the ship, I have no answers because I enjoy watching it sink

First thing would be to liberate every team member's phone, IPad, or tablet and check all texts, emails, etc. IF, I repeat, IF any communications are found from former coaches that can conclusively prove espionage, for lack of a better word, then that needs to be dealt with immediately. Expulsion from the university, for starters, and possible legal action against the guilty former employees.

Riley probably isn't the guy we need, but he deserves a helluva lot better than that. It's hard to succeed when outside forces are continuously stacking the deck against you.

his demeanor is what puzzles me. getting an ash beating and he looks like he is just not all that worried... BUT, why would he be? if they fire him, he gets a huge hunk of cash to do nothing...like Charlie Weis, getting paid by Notre Lame AND ku to be unemployed....

I could easily see pelini doing crap like that guy.

When Roy Williams went to Carolina, he was contacting Dave paggett to effect a transfer. It all became known so pagett couldn't go to Carolina and self already "made other plans."

different situation, KSU fans don't think the football world should bow to us and let us play for a title JUST because of who we are....this is the Husker mentality

Nebraska Football is fugged. This will be a less than stellar recruiting year and we all know what happens down the road without top notch recruiting.

They can't fire Riley now because no one will ever take the job again. By not firing Riley, the school is showing that mediocrity is the status quo and acceptable. When it gets to that point, the fan base patriotism gets even worse. When the fan base stops supporting the team, the recruiting goes to chit even more. The worse the recruiting gets, the more games are lost, resulting in less coaching confidence, if that's possible. The President of the University needs to appoint a competent committee to stop this never ending dog-chasing-tail fiasco. But the first thing for them to remember is a coaching hire that the fans feel questionable about usually is.

I'm gonna take a short sabbatical. The Boss is getting on a plane at 6 am to go home to the Philippines for almost a month, and tomorrow afternoon I'm burying a brother. Still trying to wrap my head around that one.
