Maybe I shouldn't have posted this here, but after reading enough of the storied of what has been happening in this onvce great country, I just had to have my say.
Appalled
What has happened to this once great country, where the rights of the few were protected by the many?
Because of the wants of a few who have enough money and wherewithal to get legislation enacted against the wishes of many, we now have overgrown forests that are a tinderbox waiting for large, uncontrollable and devastating fires.
We have landowners, livestock owners and innocent children being threatened by large predatory wolves. Legally bought and paid for land, bought by hardworking people, is being confiscated and taken away by our very own government!
Ranchers who live anywhere near where there is a growing population of reintroduced wolf packs, now have to get permission from the government to protect their children and assets from a creature who was driven off and eradicted by the first people to come to this country.
People who have legally bought and paid for the land they built their homes on are being threatened and in many cases, had their houses burnt down, because of policies that have let our public forests become overgrown with stunted tees that would be better used as lumber.
People who have legally bought and paid for their land are having that land confiscated because some distant and wealthy people want to keep it from being used for producing a livelihood, as they already are wealthy in their own right and they might want to visit it one day.
Does wealth equal power? When did we decide that those who have more money should get to make all the rules?
Should hardworking, taxpaying citizens have to endure the suffering and anguish that so many are going through, so that a spoiled few, with more money, can have their way?
I believe it's high time that we the people who live on the land and use if for the benefit of all, should have a say.
I believe it's time for a revolution. Not with guns as weapons, but with words of wisdom and the media behind us. We need to get our story out and show those who would deny our very existence that we will band together and not give up without a fight.
"If we do not hang together, we will surely hang separately".
