I am calling it. As of my last check, I can proudly say that we have gone 24 hours with out putting a calf in the warming box. What a year so far. Here's to things looking up.

Yeah hell i spoke to soon was out tagging and now we have a little bit of a snow storm again. So i suppose a quick bite to eat a cup of coffee and get theold box fired up again.

Going great so far. Got about 25 today. Due date is in three days. Only a 30 day calving season this year so it's going to go fast. Hope your weather holds out for you.

If you were calving here today your hotbox would be getting a workout. -18 with the wind chill and snowing / blowing snow like crazy. I almost feel sorry for those "green grass calvers" today

If I lived in Canada my cows wouldn't start calving till the deer started having their babies. I'll bet not many of those suckers chill.
