I gotta stop doin' this

Keep your chin up Peg! There are lots of good books out there on glycemic index foods and keeping blood sugar in check. I used to think death by chocolate was not an unreasonable way to go, but one good gallbladder attack cured that attitude! Of course with gall stones it's fat that I have to avoid, but I also found out that life goes on even without ice cream, and bacon and eggs, and......

WELL! Got test results, high sugar,so now have a blood sugar monitar, which took me well over an hour to stick myself the first time.
Blood pressure is 112/89 :) If you saw me you wouldn't believe that one..
Anyhow gotta change my eating habits + a few other things.. Life goes on :(

Somehow I keep winding up here, but now need to buy all new grocerys,
so stoped here first..

You can do it Peg. This too shall pass. :-)

Peg- coming from someone thats been a diabetic for a few years- the best thing is that you can eat all the beef (most meats) you want- without taking on any carbohydrates or raising your blood sugar....Cut out the starches- bread, potatoes, pastas and noodles and you will have no problem keeping your blood sugar in check without medication.....

Funny you should say potatoes OT! They spike my Mom right off the charts. That and rice. I thought potatoes were good for you, too much sugar.

If you can live with them- beans are much better, because they release their sugars much slower....What else do you need to live-- Beans and Beef :???:

Blood sugar this morning was 99.. :-) Much better than the 195 I started with last week.. :( Have got a lot of information, now to put it to good use. :???:

Another Dr app I don't feel like doing anything.. Have fed
birds for 20 years---haven't put out seed for 6 months or so--- NOT depression--things outside may depress me,but inside I'm optimistic
Just SO tired--anything is such an effort--mabe when I lost weight things will be better. Working on that, don't have a scale,so hard to judge..

I'm no doctor, and you may not be depressed, but you darn sure sound like you're stuck in a major rut! You should be discussing this with your doctor I'm thinking, because there has to be a reason for your lethargy. Good luck with the appointment, and may you get nothing but good news.

Thanks--- This is an older woman Dr,so she may know where I'm comeing from--- I can't seem to fine the starting place on anything
:? Had a Dr,many,many years ago,give me Ritilan--did wonders,but I couldn't sleep,so he wanted me to take sleeping pills..Old style ones..
I couldn't see me on uppers and doweners,so refused,so then no more ritilan---- Mabe I could mug some schoolkid---by-bumped

I got put on Ritalin once.. Couldn' sleep at night either and basicalyl made me sick to the stomache.. I suppose I could have tried something else but never did.. .. Took a lot to convince me to try it to begin with... I will say it worked a bit but I just didn't feel "Right" ever when I was on it..

It was so funny with the Ritilen.I could look at something, find where to start, and see it thro to the end. Mabe I got ADD to go along with the dislexia. :???: :? . Had 3 kids under 3 then,so had reason to be tired .  . Well,I'll keep bugging the Drs until we find out whats the matter,or I die first..(64)

Peg, could you have sleep apnea?
Mr. FH could hardly navigate and I finally convinced him to
take the test. He has been on a CPAP machine for a couple of years
now and it has made a MAJOR difference in his energy level.
If he goes without using that machine at night, he is right
back to being lethargic. I mean almost non-fuctional.

but would have to do a total rewire on the house!

I don't understand this! - It only takes One (1) Electrical Plug and One (1) InterNet Hook-up and maybe a Phone Line

House is a 1930-40 Army barraks(small) one plug on one wall, one on another.. phone line is strung back to the bedroom, extention cords all over.. washer-dryer set up across the kitchen windows, sink into a blank wall.. Bought it as a fixer upper, now is a teardown and burn.. funny how life gets in the way of the best intentions...
