Out of my first 22 calves on the ground, 17 of them are heifer calves. Last year, when all was said and done, I had twice as many bull calves as heifers overall and I was heavy on bull calves all the way through. Same cows, same bulls. Go figure.....

That's the way the ole ball bounces sometimes! Last year, and this year, both, looks like more bull calves.....the year before, the heifers had them beat four ways to Sunday!

This was discussed in some detail here, a couple of weeks or so, ago......I think it was Tap that brought it up.......

Yeah, I do remember the previous discussion. I think it started out talking about heifer bulls. The general consensus then, especially from Doc Harris, was that it didn't really matter. Over the long term, you are going to be about 50/50.

ya it usually averages out...but last couple years have had about twice as many bulls...not a bad think at all tho since i sell all my calves usually

i have about 40 cows in and 33 are hefeirs and only 7 bulls, have about 60 left to go,i do sell alot of hefeirs for replacements though ,so i quess it will work out,

Well cowwrangler, looks like we're running about the same. I had two more heifer calves this afternoon. I pretty much market all mine for feeder calves, so I'm not liking this :(
